that's a lot of open space for a lot of air! and the kicks at the ends of the splitter and side skirts!

can't decide whether this port hole exiting the front fender is engine or aero related. the swell of the FT-1 fenders always gave me a since of air flowing through them. i wouldn't be surprised if toyota decided the sprinkle in some ferrari F12 type fender aero to help separate it from the Z4.

the rear 3 quarter fender intake looks to take in some serious air too! way more than needed for brake cooling it looks. the prototypes always had extra padding around the c pillar. it almost looked bloated around there. the right side of the pic kinda looks like there's a panel stuck on there. maybe some of that air from the rear fender exits up to 3 quarter panel, activating the wail tail. the FT-1 had a what looked like an active rear spoiler. i thought that was more of a hint to type of aero they wanted coming off the rear. i think this thing is could make some actual downforce the way ferrari does without any wings.

I don't see why they would not include the active spoiler at least as an option. I mean, wasn't there an option for an active front spoiler in the JZA80? That too in the 90's.

I think this is a great example of how mirrors mounted near the A-pillars/window can still look good.

It still looks like they’re covering the side vent? When I zoom in, it looks like they’re still trying to hide something.

My guess is that the door dips in and the vent goes in past the door, not in the door

The FT-86 G sport concept has it on the quarter panel itself, but Idk if there is enough room on the prototype for a similar design.

A U.S. based executive told me last year that, "if I have any say in it, GRMN will never be on the car."

He was referring to TRD being available and apparently there was some cartoon character in the Flintstones named the Great Gazoo that caused an aversion as well.

That could make for some nice retro marketing, like the old Super Bees and Road Runners. Have a little picture of the Great Gazoo on the fender.

Im starting to think more and more that that's not how the finished side vent will look.

I believe BC saw the same car we are now seeing only before we did. If you notice there is no gas door on the Best Car rendering. If they saw the real car I'm sure they would include the gas door... And based on the spy work done over here it still looks like there is a panel covering part of that side vent. I think we will see something more aggressive than that little slit in the door.

While tiny side mirrors may make for a more attractive design, this car is going to have huge blind spots, so for driveability I would much prefer the larger mirrors mandated in Europe.

The good news here is that at least one of the camo'ed cars had an indicator light of the type used by blind spot monitoring systems on the passenger side mirror, so BSM will at least be an option if not standard equipment.
