Maxton V2 Splitter Hack Job

I ordered a Maxton V2 splitter to hold me over until my Seibon CF arrives, 6 month wait. When the Maxton arrived I was surprised at how they handled a revision update to the part.

It looks like they removed a section that wasn’t fitting properly with the car. Updates are good right?

Well it looks like they just used a bandsaw to remove the plastic. The jagged edges were too sharp to risk scratching the car.

I took 200, 500 and 1000 grit sandpaper and left a smooth finish as any mating part should have that touches the car.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Luckily it seems you have it fixed up just unfortunate you had to do it..

Wonder if that was a returned part that just go restocked n shipped back out?

Not sure, I’m still waiting on a response from them. Lets see what they say. It was a 2 month wait for this part.

When installing a lip, I like to use some molding tape between the body to the lip for a cleaner look.

I don’t have that lip on my Supra. lol I was saying when I used to install lips on all my Hondas, I used those molding strips and it came out with an Oem look and fills the gap of between the body and lip.
