It won’t hurt anything to switch in between sport and comfort mode while driving? Not sure if that’s something you do right after you start it up and leave it…??‍♂

Most modern cars have these toggle buttons to dynamically change throttle mapping, etc. If the manufacturer didn't intend for it to be changed on the fly (as in while driving), they'd have locked it out, or required you to be in park to engage it.

Personally I find it ridiculous that here is even a "sport mode" button in this car. It should be in "sport mode" all the time with NO button. If I wanted it to drive in "comfort mode" I would have brought a Camry.

Alright, calm it down there. Not all of us need to be lunging at other cars in stop and go traffic. Sport mode also disable to engine auto start/stop, which seems like it's needed to reach those EPA requirements. Part of the appeal of the Supra for me was being able to comfortably drive it around AND have a raw experience with the press of a button. Most BMWs also have an eco mode that was left off the Supra.

I'm 100% ok with a sport mode button... there are times when it's late at night pulling into the neighborhood, there are cops nearby, or it's raining and having all the power and an exhaust that's just popping everywhere isn't desired.

Top Tip: Just code it to start in Sport, and use it as a 'Quiet/Rain Mode' button instead!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my neighbors appreciate it when I don't come into my neighborhood at 1am, aggressively downshifting and letting out a string of firecracker sounds while doing it.

Push the button at will, no harm to anything. Its nice to hit comfort mode when you have a cop next to you just waiting to enforce local noise ordinances. With just a downpipe alone the downshifts can be heard from a decent distance.

Agreed here, I go into comfort mode if I'm in bad city or I-5 traffic. I don't see any reason for an ultra-sensitive throttle in those conditions. There's also cities nearby cracking down on modified exhausts, so my aftermarket downpipe would draw a lot of attention in sport.

Change it in Bimmer to start and stay in Sport.
