Hearing this is happening in MD is scary but I shouldn’t be surprised. They are talking about installing noise sensing cameras to automatically ticket loud cars in Montgomery county where I live now.

The virus which is California is spreading… My buddy in Norcal said they have flash checkpoints checking for any modifications or tint.

Just got pulled over because my car was making "backfire noises and burbles". The officer then explains to me that the car DOES NOT come stock with making any of those noises. I tell him the 2020 Supra's from factory make burbles and backfires. He then proceeds to say, "ive been doing this for a while, they dont buddy". He also says the SPORT MODE button on my car is illegal to use on public roads and only on tracks and that its my responsibility as a car owner to have known that.

Luckily he gave me 3 warnings... 2 for my excessive exhaust noise (burbles/backfires) (i have a remark exhaust, and I was going 30mp so not loud by any means..) and for window tint.. I didnt want to keep arguing about him about the sport mode being for track use only cause he did say that he could have towed my car..

If you don't mind me asking where in MD was that cop? I normally stay is DE, but I sometimes roam around Salisbury from time to time and I'm moving to MD in a few years.

Was it a HoCo officer or State? I live in Howard County, too. My car is loud (lots of mods), windows tinted, and no front tag. I got a warning for no front tag (from MD state police) but nothing yet on noise or tint. I have the burble setting pretty low like 25%. I also hit comfort mode whenever Waze tells me police are ahead.

What really ticks me off about the front tag warning is that Howard Country has TONS of Teslas and unscientifically I’d say 25% or more don’t have front tags…NEVER heard of one getting a ticket but lots of Supras get harassed for it.
