I am curious why people seem to sometimes prefer this spot - isn't it harder to actually look at the navigation the farther down it is from the windshield? Feels like you're taking your eyes off the road more.

Regardless, I really wish the HUD in the Supra worked with navigation via CarPlay like newer BMWs have. Sadly seems to be a iDrive version thing and isn't something you can fix with coding.
its not really a Supra thing, I dont really like any of the interiors where the navi screen is on the top like that, I know Mercedes/Teslas have it there and its such a turn off for me

and its not any more easier/harder to see in either spot, sunglare is a bitch no matter what

So I find these figures interesting. Now a 370z Nismo is not a 2023 Z but the Z comes with a more heavier motor. The 370Z has a heavier front end than a 3.0 Supra and way more heavier than the 2.0 along with a worse F/R balance. I believe the Supra will not only be quicker but it'll out handle the new Z unless there's some trick up it's sleeve tbh.

Also it's cool to see the difference in the 2.0 and 3.0 weight removal on both ends of the chassis. A nice 110 lbs less on the front. And 204lbs lighter on the front than the 3.7 Nismo manual.
Its also rumored that the new Z will be around 200lbs heavier than the 370z. That puts the Nismo Z at what 3600lbs or so? Thatā€™s a big advantage for the Supra.

Is the banana yellow a special color that you have to pay extra for?

The front is terrible attempt at 240Z nostalgia. The back screams Audi A7. The sides are tolerable. Its just boring. Zero soul or appeal as a package. Again the 370Z is far better looking overall.

Shape alone, would much rather have a Mustang or Camaro over a 400Z..

Call a dealer if you can and show interest and prepare to payup would be my guess.....

--For keen (and well-connected) Nissan fans, a Performance-based "Proto Spec" special edition will also be available. Limited to just 240 U.S.-bound units, this special Z lives up to its name by mimicking the bright yellow Z Proto, featuring yellow brake calipers, bronze wheels, a different manual shift knob, yellow-accented leather seats, and exclusive suede and yellow-stitched interior trim. --

I donā€™t think so, all they mentioned is that itā€™s starting at around 40k
What? All this time losers over at various car forums were boasting starting mid-$30K's and will wipe out all Supra's from the planet.

Finders keepers, losers are losers.

Yeah I donā€™t hate the car, but donā€™t really like it either. People on their forum will find anything to hate about the Supra which I find kind of funny.

The pricing is vague by choice as normal from an auto-maker until announced. Must keep the interest primed. Also the car looks like a small Audi A7 in style to me. I actually like it less as time has gone by now. It is much less attractive to me than the Supra or the C8. Im good with the C8. Certain small angles are awkward, but overall its exotic.

Nissan is in general a bland style language maker.

They both have their plus and minus, but the Z's interior looks cheap. The materials look like cheap plastic used in GM cars during the early and mid 2000s. Since that's where must of us will be spending most of our time I vote Supra. The only reason I might be tempted with the Z is the manual and rumored cheaper price tag.
That is what I would expect from a Renault owned company. CHEAP!

I came from a pristine 1993 Twin Turbo Z (Owned for 14 years) and wanted the new Z to be a success. I'm truly not a fan of the design and the interior looks cheap. The Supra exterior design is more dramatic and has a much more premium interior. Also... based on some initial figures and estimates, the Supra is a better performing car in most (if not all) categories.

Jokes aside, I don't think it looks bad at all and I wouldn't mind owning one too, but I would like to wait to see the first reviews and how heavy it really is. Also I see the first batches with awful markups too...

I went back and watched the Savagegeese review of the 2019 370 Nismo. They didnā€™t like the manual gearbox, didnā€™t like the steering feel and feedback, were concerned about the brakes and cooling at the track, and felt the Mustang and Camaro were far superior.

This is my concern with the new Z. Did Nissan mail this thing in with mostly the same recycled parts and expect a different outcome ? Their 370 Nismo was $45K with a manual. Iā€™m guessing a loaded new Z Nismo optioned car will be pushing close to or over $50K..
