So I ordered the GLOC test pads for my 3.0 base and when they came in they were quite a bit larger then the pads I pulled out of my rear brakes. I then read a thread on here that the A90 premium has larger rear rotors and larger brake calipers then then the A90 Base model.
can anyone confirm this? The fact Toyota would stick brembo front calipers that are the same in the base and premium but change the rear calipers for a package that only adds heated seats would be mind blowingly stupid to me.
I talked to the sales guy at vorshlag and he talked to the guy at GLOC who said they may have accidentally mailed me 2.0 rear brakes or something entirely different. but I figure someone may have a better idea.

Na, the base model only exists to sell the premium model. ‘Oh for a little more I can get X.’ Common marketing strategy.
True but I have every package on the car except the heated seats so the fact I would need different rear pads is ridiculous

Oh, really? The HUD and the all that shit?
Oops I forgot about the HUD but I do have the drivers package and the convenience package so all the sensors and cross traffic alert as well as the upgraded JbL sound system with the larger touchscreen

They are different. Aside from the tech packages for nav, parking, HUD and carplay that the premium offers, the caliper paint and rear brake sizes are the only real difference between base and premium. Carbotech listed the 2 rear sizes on their site when I bought pads last, so if youre looking for an equivalent to pair with GLoc fronts, that would be a quick solution.

The base and premium shares the same part numbers for the rotors and pads. The calipers are different part numbers, maybe because the premium calipers are painted.

Local dealerships were upcharging me $6k on Premiums when I was shopping for one last year as opposed to the fully loaded base model. I couldn't really justify another $6k for fully leather seats, heated seats for a car mostly used in the summer, a HUD, and marginally bigger rear rotors, and painted calipers. So it went to mods instead.

In hindsight, I could've shopped cross country for a cheaper premium from the East Coast, but didn't want to deal with the hassle of travel or shipping during COVID.

@Cptnslo what pads did you end up going with?
I ended up going with GLOC pads. I had contacted them and they sent me new pads that WERE the correct size. The only annoying thing was the rear wear pad sensor didn’t fit over the backing plate from GLOC. I wrote to them and they were slow to respond and then wanted me to send the pads back but I had already been running them for a number of miles so I wasn’t worried about it since I check my pads regularly anyway.
