Did you have to go through an employee to put a factory order in then? 6 months is nothing, and I'd rather just do that.
Hah! I almost bought a different car twice because 6 months having to drive my wife's hybrid was killing me inside. M3 kicked the bucket in June and I've been spiritually suffering. Almost bought an LC500 and an M2CS, had financing approvals on both and almost signed for the LC500 before I talked myself down. I think 6/7 months for a car is insanity, but I'm under 30 so the months move pretty slow. Supra should be at the dealer in a week or two, so now I'm just sitting here gritting my teeth and counting the days down.

You do need to go through an employee, and you need to be related to them by blood or marriage. MIL is the employee here. It's an employee benefit program (like every manufacturer has).

Looking for dealer options that can help get an order placed. I've spoke with a few dealers in Chicago and Minneapolis but they have said they can only keep a look out on what allocations are coming in and if they match the options we're looking for.

Are only certain dealers able to place actual orders and is it just a matter of asking around? I really don't mind traveling anywhere in the US.

Looking to close the deal this spring so it's ideal if I have to wait a few months for the car to come in.

Appreciate the help.

FYI looking at a 2022 3.0 premium in white with red interior.
Dealers can't order the red interior. I've spoke to many. I have mine on order will be here this year. They may change this later on this year because of supply, but is an option but no one can get it anywhere. I've only seen one other then mine and its in Canada. 6 month wait.

I read other car sales forums frequently and have learned that Toyota doesn't do dealer orders. Toyota manufacturing only does allocations based on lottery for the Supra. So what you've experienced so far is exactly accurate.

You will have to put in the leg work to search every dealer and be willing to travel. I believe other forum members have mentioned that in their search red interior on 2.0/3.0/3.0 Premium trims it is basically impossible to find and that we're not even sure if they're making them.

As mentioned it's best if you keep an eye on the above listed websites.
They're not making it for dealers at all right now. You cannot get it at all.

You have a 2022 with red interior? Canada's black white and phantom have default red leather since initial release in 2019. Mime has it.

I have the tesla for if I really want to go out in an active snow fall. 95% of the time the city has the road clear within a few hours. I don't usually ever have to be somewhere that bad that I need to risk damaging my cars.
You're a brave soul. I didn't make it down my driveway in the Z in Mpls before we moved. I couldn't imagine daily driving it...also, the mental anxiety of destroying a beautiful sports car with road salt and brine for 5 months out of the year.

I daily drive mine in Michigan with performance all season tires when the roads are clear. Roads are terrible with pot holes and car gets salty all the time. I also take it through a car wash at least once a week. It really depends on what your end goal with the car is. I will probably will sell mine in a few years like I do every other car I have ever owned.

What tires did you have the Z on?

When you guys say, "Red interior" are you speaking of an entire red leather interior or just looking for the stupid one driver's side red leather door section with red leather accents on the steering wheel? Never understood why that launch edition only put the red leather on the driver's side. Looks way off.

Super Sports....yes, it's a summer only tire but i couldn't even imagine driving it with winters either, the thing is so low it would just snow plow.

There're only two styles of red interior available so far, one with red leather seats and the other with red leather and black Alcantara seats. Both styles have a red-and-black driver's side door and an all-black passenger's side door:

I have the all-leather red option, which was available since launch here in Canada. The red-and-black driver's side door looks fine when you're in the car with doors closed because of the red centre trim on driver's side, but I agree the door looks weird when you compare it with the passenger's side, particularly with both doors open.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I had pilot sport 4s's on my wrx and the first day it dropped below 30 was the day I went in for a set of x-ice tires.

Luckily my streets are cleaned pretty well and I already snow blow out half the alley for my other cars.

Good luck! Just make sure you do enough research on folks that have driven the car year round, i'm sure there are some trade-offs and if it can stay parked on bad snow days, it's probably doable.
