I don't believe rumors until I see test cars that aren't mules for another new chassis not a current one
I don't believe test cars. I said this is some comment last year, but there have been hundreds/millions of projects that have had prototypes/test units/etc. that never saw the light of day.

Wrong. That's exactly what I did for my A91, and exactly what I did for a GRC. It shows the dealer you're serious, and in turn Toyota.
I gave the dealer a $1k deposit the day after the A91 was unveiled, got my paperwork saying MSRP, as soon as the allocations were known I knew I was getting one, then we specced the car, little later I got my VIN, little after that I drove the car home.

Doing the exact same process for a GRC.

Glad it worked out for you but still doesn't change what I said.
I believe you that they did in fact call you first, again some dealers will keep an internal "list" but nothing is FACTUAL.

I am far from wrong, as I have proven here over and over but I am tired of trying to help and receive answers like yours. Keep giving them your money...

I PROMISE you one thing, no matter how much of a deposit you "think" you have, someone else comes in and pays more for the car and your deposit means shit.

And btw toyota gets absolutely NO notification of your deposit, now once there is an INTERIM vin number then yes, they are notified.

Depends on the context I only partially agree with this statement.

It's funny how awfully quite the insiders over at bimmerpost have been. ?
Only if you’re not looking closely and ignore the subtle hints in the fine print. B58+MT was dropped because it couldn’t meet emissions requirements, but the S58+MT does.

What do you think Toyota means by tailor made Manual?
Honestly, I doubt toyota built a new MT from the ground up for the supra (if they did, huge kudos). But the b58 is already paired with the MT in several other BMW models, my guess is they took that MT and maybe made some modifications or made it more reliable? Like you take pants to a tailor to get them changed to fit you. The tailor didn't create the pants from scratch but they did modify it.

But the Manuel Supra has a soul, don't you care about driving man?
I do care about driving. That's why I have a Supra! The lack of a manual transmission doesn't make it a vehicle with no soul. Commuter, econo-boxes and SUV's are without soul.

To each, their own.

As I have stated previous on another thread about the manual Supra, sure hope they figure out the throttle hesitation issue beforehand. Couldn’t imagine trying to start out with a clutch and having no go.

I wont miss any of this at all. The soul or engagement issue with a 3rd pedal. The magazine and propaganda work well on many. Drive what you like. Enjoy it as its personal. The auto press needs to be ignored. They are turning a personal choice political and convincing 'enthusiasts' what they think it means. No car with a manual is an enthusiasts choice. Its a choice. The enthusiast is behind the wheel enjoying what he chose. Not the ignorant bloody press.

For all they print they offer about 1% information that might help an enthusiast make a decision. The rest is so personal if the press died and disappeared who would miss them lol.

The few brainswashed posts here saying a manual is soul etc is P A T H E T I C.

Yup! Imagine saying with a straight face a Civic Si with a manual is an enthusiast's car, but a Cayman GT4 RS with a PDK isn't ?

Jeez, you went full MAGA on a Supra issue. Did you ever figure that perhaps to some, rowing their own gears is what gives life to a sports car experience, and their decision is independent of what the media pushes? Just because some enthusiasts don’t share the same opinion as you, that doesn’t make them a sheep. What IS pathetic is people like you who are so offended by other people’s opinion. Sorry, orange man, that saying goes something like opinions are like buttholes - everyone has one.

Imagine comparing a manual 911 GT3 to a Ford Fiesta with PowerShift DCT. Your point again?
