Yes. They matter more than the viscosity. To my understanding they have to do with the particular additives in the oil in regards to the engine.
Looks like the only choice is 0w-20, whether oem or other brands, then after some research. Was trying to go 0w-30 but even that doesn’t have those certs.

Going to be a daily with some spirited driving here and there. No track use planned. Does the factory GR oil constitute “good quality oil”?

This video covers it all. Definitely worth a watch.

Thanks for that. That was very informative and gives me relief in sticking to 0w-20 for now and will reevaluate if I become heavily modified.

might make a switch to liqui moly though. I’d imagine their oil is probably better than oem

Depends. Even he said in video what to look for and the car manufacturers know what to use and is best. But moly is dmn good oil so you cant go wrong

Right. I mean I don’t think I’m going to be doing any major stuff right now besides intake and exhaust, so probably won’t need other weights anytime soon.
Looks like I’ll have to start doing my own oil changes since I’ll be switching brands lol

So basically don't use 5w 30 and add a fuel additive for di injectors every 3000 miles

Most race shops & peeps I’ve talked to told me to look at the oil. If amber, looks new, no need to change.

(posted this before I learned we didn’t have a dipstick 🤦🏼‍♂️)

5W-30 is perfectly fine. I’d bank there majority of us that are modded have switched to thicker oil. Stock stuff is water.

Also no need for any fuel additive.

In video that was suggested by liquid moly rep himself. But I get it. How about living I. South where I see over 115 heat index?

The factory 0w-20 is like water, I don’t trust it at all. The US is also the only region where 0w-20 is specified for the B58, everyone else gets 5w-30 I believe. It’s pretty obvious the 0w-20 recommendation is for US emissions reasons only, not for the health of the engine.

As for the interval, I did 1.8k for the first one, and 5k thereafter.

Swap to 5w30 LiquiMoly
Can you share a link to specifically what 5w30 LiquiMoly people are using in this car? I was going to do another 0w20 free oil change at the dealership, but the oil is on national backorder until mid-July, being told. I'm not due, but want fresh oil in it prior to a few track days coming up in the next couple of months.

I’m the south too, heat index this moment is 111F. One of the reasons I switched to a thicker oil.
