Shell is rated at most 91 octane here, so I use Chevron which sells a 94 octane. Our manual recommends 93 octane.

I'd read that some enthusiasts in the area (Evo owners, I think?) had more success with Shell, perhaps due to its ethanol content, so I tried interpreting timing logs for one tank's worth of each, but the data was too noisy to make sense of.
We usually have to use 93 here as it contains about 10% ethanol. The 91 variant means it doesn't have any etanol which most driver prefer for better mpg. I do believe premium starts at 91 and not 93 like most people think. For me I usually just use any top tier gas.

I’m sure it’s placebo effect, but I’m 66.6% convinced my car makes more pops and bangs on Shell vs Chevron or Fred Meyer premium. ?
Funny, I feel the same way when I fill at a Circle K.

So about this. After the back and forth in my recent JB4 thread, emailing with @Jesse DaBears, and doing some research, I've landed on an E50 custom map. With the Ignite fuel, do you fill at a local shop, store the fuel at your home, or store it at your remote garage/storage location? It seems like a clean, high-quality, expensive solution for when it's time to hit the track. However, I'm reticent to store a barrel of fuel in my garage at home. Curious what you're doing.

First, in my state, when a tanker truck goes for a fill at a tank farm, there are no labels or advertisements on the tanks, second, there are no labels or advertisements on the actual tanker truck, so , if u think your getting shell,
Amoco,or whatever at your nearest gas station, that’s wishful thinking.
PS there are no labels or brand names on tanker trucks in Florida, other then the carriers name.

if its like our car hauling company we have just our logo on the side but we carry cars to dealers like bmw , toyota , tesla, etc etc ... maybe its like that or maybe we are all getting the same gas everywhere lol

Jesse keeps barrels at his house. I keep 5 gallon VP jugs at my apartment outside. I either fill them up from Jesse or at Evolution of Speed's.

I do think the engine likes the Shell variety, the few times I filled up there. I once sprung for the premium non-ethanol variety at the mom and pop which ships in their fuel from Georgia. The engine revved happier in the low RPMs but the hit to the wallet makes this a special occasion buy. Usually just get E93 at QuikTrip here in the upstate SC.

I get my 93 from RaceTrac. Because race cars fuel at race tracks. Butt dyno tells me it shaves a full 0.10 at the red light near my house.

I can say one thing forsure though, when i'm on my "Chevron/ G&M oils E85" E50 mix, the car's gas mileage increases cause my tanks last pretty long on it.

but when i switch it to "76/ Propel Fuels E85" E50 mix, the car's power band feels more violent, smooth and burns a tad quicker. As for cold start smells, THIS mix smells heavily like E85 vs the chevron/ g&m mix.

I run a solid Chevron / Gatorade mix. When the Electrolytes kick in at about 4k rpm in the 3rd quarter, no one can catch me.

Chevron 1st choice, Shell as a second option only when Chevron isn’t available.

Is it me or does the corn juice smell like one of local ganja shops?
