We usually have to use 93 here as it contains about 10% ethanol. The 91 variant means it doesn't have any etanol which most driver prefer for better mpg. I do believe premium starts at 91 and not 93 like most people think. For me I usually just use any top tier gas.Shell is rated at most 91 octane here, so I use Chevron which sells a 94 octane. Our manual recommends 93 octane.
I'd read that some enthusiasts in the area (Evo owners, I think?) had more success with Shell, perhaps due to its ethanol content, so I tried interpreting timing logs for one tank's worth of each, but the data was too noisy to make sense of.
