What is with everyone quoting a $65k msrp?

A 340i w/ B58 starts at $48k and you think Toyota is going to come to market at 65?
Don’t underestimate the brilliance at Toyota USA.

Is that a good enough indication of Toyota's own CGI block inline 6? It may look like the B58 but that doesn't mean that it is. Hopefully all the components under the hood are made of high quality materials, BMW has a habit of using really cheap low quality materials especially the parts made from plastic.

I re-read this article anytime i find myself losing hope lol.

I used to own an 86, and I loved it for what it was. I have faith that Tada will do the same with the Supra. I just hope that Toyota as a company doesn’t screw around with Tada’s dream of what he see’s the A90 as.

You say people in UK do put you in a drawer when they hear what kind of car you drive. I think there are people all over the world doing that. But isn’t it very very stupid? I am who I am, doesn’t matter what car I drive.
I hear what you are saying but I hate BMW mostly because their build quality is poor. Every component is designed to last long enough only to cover the warranty period and then cost the owner mega bucks. And generally BMW owners exude this stuck up superiority that their car is better than yours.

I’ve around a dozen friends in particular that also tried BMW after Toyota and came back to Toyota because their BMW’s were constantly having problems.

Also I know its silly but if you are driving a BMW in th UK nobody will let you out of traffic/junctions because they hate you for what you are driving. I experienced this in my own BMW. Its just the way it is. I don’t let BMW drivers out either lol

Yes, you are the only one...lol.

With an iron block, and the power/strength/reliability potential of an iron block, weight and handling issues will be pretty much non-existent. Also, if you think 500HP is "enough", then you have no idea the power little civics are making nowadays on the street....little...tiny....civics.
Turns out I'm not the only one going by other peoples responses lol

I don't care if I come up against a 20,000bhp Civic.. its still a Civic. Instant fail.

Also going after crazy power numbers is kinda stupid unless you are actually trying to build a non-street legal dragster.

A good road car is about the corners, not the 1/4 mile. Unless you can lay down 100% of a cars power on track then its pointless having it.

The grmn had more power. 215 or something, and cost 49k. Had weight reduction and extensive suspension tuning.
So based on the GRMN 86 costs twice a base 86, we can totally expect the GRMN Supra to be over $100k.

Now this is a legit question. I'd also like to know.
Me too. Why in the world BMW decided that a sensor was good enough to replace something as simple and effective as the dipstick I don't know. not life if the dipstick adds a bunch of weight or complexity. :banghead:

Everyone is so hopeful of this car, when everyone is forgetting that the whole point of the collaboration was to SAVE MONEY and COST CUTTING! There isn’t going to be a GRMN with a super-duper engine. The GRMN will be the equivalent of a TRD packaged whatever here in the states. You know, little blingy exhaust tips, diffusers, and decals. Making a fancy motor for just the GRMN is just crazy if you think about it, considering the car is designed around a strategy of “build it as cheap as possible for maximum profits.” There is no secret PR stunt, or a shocking surprise awaiting....this is it, what you saw at Goodwood and the engine everyone saw is it. Rumors of a higher-end motor (if it exists) will only be for racing divisions, not production.

Where the f**k is Doc Brown, I seriously need to go back to 1994 for some real cars.
