I’m trying to install my lpfp kit. I can’t figure out how to get the fuel pump out of the tank? I’ve got the top hat off just need to get the pump out of the tank. Appreciate any help.

There is a release tab towards the rear of the fuel pump/vehicle - which you have to release. Once released you'll slide the pump out of the bracket it's held onto by the bottom of the fuel tank. Hopefully you get it sorted and removed! ?

So I was able to get it out. My recommendation to people is to not remove it. It’s very difficult to get it back into its bracket. I wanted it out to tighten the clamp but if I were to do it again, leave pump in and use worm clamp instead of the provided clamp. Here is a picture for reference for others in the future

You just push upward on the white lock, as seen in second picture of post #5, it slides up and then you'll be able to get the fuel pump bucket out from the bracket. There are like 2 hooks on the front side of the bracket that hold the basket in. That's the challenging part of getting the bucket back into the bracket.

Thanks. I figured it out like 10 minutes after I posted. Never got a chance yet to try reinstalling yet because I got pulled away on more important things. Not looking forward to fighting that.

Well I figured the trick out. I will say though I probably could have filled a swear jar that day. But the back side has a locking tab you gotta lift up. Then I had to get a small screwdriver to pry back the lower tab on the fuel pump bucket and it lifts towards the front of the car. Then remove the quick connect fuel line on the back side of the pump. Then out it comes.

When going back in you need to angle the front side of the pump assembly forward so the lower part installs into the holder first and then you can lower the back side and everything should line up and press down to it locks into place and then set your lock on the fuel pump bucket. This is easier said than done.

I did the pfs lpfp though.

Wait till you try to fit three more pumps in there instead of just one.
