Seems like everyone is waiting months for a P2und kit, why not the consider the ETS kit? IMO it’s a better kit and twin scroll setup.
Both equally behind IMO. No clue why all these turbo kit suppliers are offering inferior designs to an OEM set-up, only kit I could find lately that is done properly is the ams but that comes with the wrong turbo choice .

Going from electronic to pneumatic wastegate is like using an axe instead of using a chainsaw to take down a tree. So much extra work for something that will always never get the job done as well.

This is the same reason I was scared going to a top mount kit. Doc race was the only one making a top mount kit with an electronic waste gate but people have been having some issues while tuning. Doc race also discontinued the kit since.

Docrace had a great kit, but it was upside down lol. The lack of room up top to fit the enormous turbo options they offered most likely cooked parts in the engine bay and hood/bonnet paint. I haven't looked for anything specific to it because when I saw their photos of how close it was to our plasticfantastic valve covers, I just disregarded the kit all together. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the issues people experienced were from running hot.

It's so weird how no one else makes an electronic waste gate big turbo setup. They are popular in Germany but they are bottom mount and they are mostly for the 6 port anyways.

Most likely because most companies offering turbo kits aren't run by serious engineers tbh. Not all engineering is equal at the end of the day. Yes there is a potential issue for using OEM ewg to hold in higher boost levels but the fix to that is so easy there is no excuse to delete it especially if they make their kits all in house like some of these pricier kits do.

RP put up an install video of their kit yesterday :hmm:, and I already don't like the size of the bottom end of the CP 🤣. But if it makes power reliably, who can argue right.

And they are only making 2-port kits. I reached out to them a few weeks back, asking about the potential for 6-port kits, and they said they had no intention of developing one, which is sad honestly.

That doesn't quite make sense given most of the MKVs running around now (and in future) will be 6-port. I really hope they reconsider this logic.

Just watched the install video. Have to give Remnant props for keeping the lower turbine housing to engine block brace attachment. So many people in the aftermarket turbo industry don't think/care about stuff like that.

EU I think still uses the 2port even on newer models because of emissions.

The US is the only market that uses the 6 port, because (if memory serves) the BMW 340i has used 6port engines for for quite a while and it was just easier to keep the same packaging and re-use that motor for the Supra in the US. Yes, emissions played a role as well, but satisfying multiple 6-port cars with a refreshed 6-port product that fits in the same engine bay packaging likely plays a much larger role.

All Supras are 2 port in every other region, regardless of model year. There are far more 2port Supras than 6.

Yeah. Its important it takes stress off the exhaust flanges and reduces chances of flanges/manifold cracking.

Is that true? I'm not sure that's true. I wouldn't think total non-us market cars out number US market cars. But, I'm going on pure.. uh.. whatever. Just doesn't seem right.
