Probably 2-3 seconds off CR-S. ECF is an endurance 200. More like an RS4. Mine lasted FOREVER but I wanted more grip.

This is pretty accurate. Time difference will obviously vary between tracks, but yes, RS4 is a super good comp. Reason why I would take them for One Lap.

You guys havent tried the RT660s yet? Mine seriously look like they didnt wear at all after one track day (55 miles on track). Good grip and they never over heated.

It's really hard for me to try anything other than CR-S now. RT660 is slower by a little. With the revamped CR-S coming out soon, it's going to be even faster.

I still think I am going to try out the CR-S when these tires die.... Just curious if they last longer or not. I will give up a little bit of performance if they last twice as long, you know?

Those are too small... I like my 315s. Too bad my other set of wheels are 19s. They would have been perfect.

I have not jumped in for a while but have something to add on the tire topic. I have not seen anyone talk about the Federal 595rsrr. These are a great starter tire as they come in 19s for stock rims, 200 treadwear and can be driven on street. So for the price are a good all around HPDE tire. Not the fastest but very good. I have run 12 sets of tires now on the car so have experience with the following list below, some more than one set. The federals are only 2 sec off some of the fastest tires on this list, with the exception of the Hankook z214 that is a full dot slick, however does take a bit more wheeling and finesse to do it as you can get to the edge of the tire more easily. I have not gone to purple crack slicks yet due to cost. So is something for others to check out depending on what you are looking for.

For the 100 group - Maxxis are right up there at the top of the list with the AR1 in close second, as both get almost the same times.

I had used 595 RS-PRO.. not sure if these are compatible. also, if i remember correctly, RS-RR was not recommended for wet surface. my impression on RS-PRO was good on grip but it was a bit heavy.

Going to be doing autocross for the first time this weekend. It’ll be through SCCA at the Daytona International Speedway. I’ve had two track days before at Sebring and the FIRM, but never autocross. Any tips or pointer you guys have for me would be greatly appreciated!

CR-S sound perfect if Maxxis RC-1 ever become unavailable. My Maxxis tires grip well from new all the way to thread

I'll try the configurations you mentioned! And I also saw better times for myself short shifting in to 3rd. I wasn't getting the speed in 2nd. Thanks for the advice.

I would say this is true on any track. No need to be in 2nd gear. Except entering and exiting the track. The torque is insane.

Was thinking where to post this, and thought it fits our group the best. Doubt this will ever happen to y’all but… I could feel my turbo was out or the car was in some kind of safety mode. Turns out it was the turbo.

My wastegate actuator rod bracket snapped (the one that joins the vacuum rod to the wastegate door arm). Definitely not a part Toyota sells. I’d have to buy the entire wastegate on parts.toyota.com (great website btw).

Luckily my awesome independent mechanic made the part beefier ?

It was likely faulty, or just couldn’t take the heat ?‍. Regardless, highly recommended finding a good mechanic you trust in your area. The fix was way cheaper than the part would have cost me. And less than one day in the shop. I wouldn’t even want to guess how long my car would have been down and out at my local dealer, waiting for a “Supra” tech, and finally hear it’s not covered by warranty ?

Told my wife and she said it’s a track car, what do you expect? Damn I love her!

Edit: only @zrk might see something like this with extra boost or hp? But I’m thinking it was likely just mega random.

That part broke because your downpipe v-band is installed incorrectly and the arm is hitting it. Surprised you get full boost. Clock the v-band so that the bolt isn’t in the path of the waste gate articulation.
