As most of you know, there's always a challenge on the freeways traffic-dependent. By far the most puzzling to me are the giant lifted trucks. So many dudes with big trucks must have massive egos as they constantly are trying to outrun or race me. I had a satisfying event two days ago. There was a big truck behind me and I was trying to get into the express lane to the left of me, put my signal on and the truck suddenly punched it to try to cut me off.

I said, the hell with it, and hit the pedal to the floor.

It was entirely satisfying watching him and his V8 be humbled as he receded exponentially in my rear-view.

Anyone else with Supra Vs Douchey Truck Driver stories?

Wasn’t a race but had some guys my age chirping me in their stock truck saying their grandma owns a supra and that shes lame. Also told me I need a truck but I have a taco! Just the gist of the story but I let them get on my nerves, but I won in the end

It was just this instance of a douchey truck driver. Everyone else loves the supra

Just had Q50 with a fart can fly by me as I didn't entertain nor cared to waste my gas. I mean they're descendants from big Altima energy so I steer clear.

I usually pay them no mind but once in awhile I like to put them in their place. Especially snooty BMW's and the like.

Having recently purchased my first truck, I can say (based on my experience on forums), that truck-only people kind of live in a bubble.

They’re not necessarily interested in going fast. They’re interested in going fast for a truck. Those same people will pass up superior powertrains for v8 noises. The truck community is widely misinformed when it comes to wheel widths+offsets.

The people you describe appear to be in a perpetual state of “this is my first vehicle from high school, and it’s the most amazing, capable thing ever”.

Just know their decisions to try and race you come from ignorance+arrogance - you’re not having an enthusiast encounter.

If you’re informed about trucks, as well, you’ll also notice the worst offenders are in basically work-spec trucks with cheap aftermarket parts.

Great post, thank you for offering an "informed" truck owner's perspective. I had a feeling they didn't represent the majority of truck owners and that sure wasn't my intention to make it sound like I was lumping all truck drivers under the douchey umbrella.

I see plenty of trucks on the freeway that don't drive aggressively. It just surprises me how many do. Thanks again for your insight.

There is a subreddit dedicated to shitting on the stereotypical Nissan drivers lol, it's fantastic, always plenty of examples of low credit score nutcases in Nissans doing low credit score nutcase things.

First off, can we be best friends haha. Second, this all sounds like EVERY encounter with me and the above type trucks. Even worse now that I live in Texas, obviously. It never siezes to amaze me how idiotic these people are. They all fly around trying to race. They all think their lifted or big trucks add 10000hp. They look so stupid bouncing all over the freeway in a giant wobbly 6k lb death trap. I also love occasionally crushing their egos.

It doesn't help that those Hoonigan idiots made a video of a Supra with almost no mods race against a 700hp Rapter R. You can tell its heavily biased to paint the Rapter as THE best. The video is cringeworthy. So those guys saw that and think big trucks are so much faster than a Supra.

Dont forget youre paying almost 50k more for a Raptor R. Add a JB4 to the supra, which is $400, and itll smoke it. But were comparing apples to oranges since a truck is a truck and a sports car is a sports car

100% my thoughts. Yep. And in some markets, 100k more expensive with markups as a Supra. Then they all cheered like it was some big accomplishment lol. Then proceeded to go insane with all the dude-bro shit, obviously.
