If they're going to be replaced for "free" anyways, why wouldn't you just buy the better ones out of the gate?

Because I'm a cheap bastard I guess. ? Honestly the very minor benefits of the Brembo OEM rotors just aren't worth the added cost in my opinion. Especially given that there's at least one track days worth of $$$ delta.

Just thinking out loud again, and I'm very curious as to the weight difference between them. I know extra unsprung mass makes an exponential difference in the behavior of the steering & suspension systems.

Unsprung mass is indeed bad, but there's really not much of a weight difference at all. The majority of the mass of the rotor is still concentrated in the same region and the moment of inertia is likely very similar between the two. The lightweight 18" tire/wheel package is going to have WAY more effect on the vehicle dynamics.

I found out the OE Brembo composite front rotors weigh 12.4 kg (27.337 lbs) each, so I'd love to find the exact weight of the full-cast irons.

Around 30 lbs, but like @decodeddiesel stated, the additional weight is in the axle center, so will be less of a noticeable difference if it was out at the outer diameter.

I mean if we're going really crazy, the OEM pads have probably a pound per corner of mass added to change their natural frequency and avoid vibration, so that's a pound per corner of unsprung mass shedded compared to OEM. ?

I'm sure it'll help me win at my next HDPE! ?????

No. We both went 75% effort or so. I could have driven that m2 all day. Nothing like a factory race car no matter what we do to ours. The video game steering wheel would take a bit to get used to.

Definitely feels like a good 30-40 hp on the butt dyno. You can tell a little hesitation when the ECU compensates for the added boost. Not particularly noticeable or a deal breaker at the price point.
