Because I'm a cheap bastard I guess. ? Honestly the very minor benefits of the Brembo OEM rotors just aren't worth the added cost in my opinion. Especially given that there's at least one track days worth of $$$ delta.If they're going to be replaced for "free" anyways, why wouldn't you just buy the better ones out of the gate?
Unsprung mass is indeed bad, but there's really not much of a weight difference at all. The majority of the mass of the rotor is still concentrated in the same region and the moment of inertia is likely very similar between the two. The lightweight 18" tire/wheel package is going to have WAY more effect on the vehicle dynamics.Just thinking out loud again, and I'm very curious as to the weight difference between them. I know extra unsprung mass makes an exponential difference in the behavior of the steering & suspension systems.
