Good advice! I used my Motive Power Bleeder and bled them 3 or 4 times, then drove it, got into ABS and bled 3 more times. I used up 3 liters of Castrol SRF.

I'm pretty sure at this point there isn't a single drop of Motul left in the system.

Pedal feels good now. I'm going to bleed again after tomorrow before Palmer on the 21st.
You did a pressure bleed. I am talking about a vacuum bleed. Instead of forcing air into the master cylinder, you need to put a vacuum to it. It sucks the calipers pistons all the way in and forces any bubbles out. If you do it right, you have to pump the brake pedal about 4-5 times to get the pressure back since it has to push the pistons back out.

You're absolutely right.

First and foremost, it was really great to meet @razorlab and @garudathree! I wish I had a little more time to pick your brains, but as it was I learned a lot from both of you and I really appreciate it! I'm sure we could have talked Supras and cars in general for hours. They are both impressive as hell on track! Fun to watch from the scoring tower.

The weather was sunny, 83F, dry. It was an absolutely perfect day, and a real treat in New England.

I'll tell you it was packed, so point-bys were an issue in all groups. Saw so many beautiful cars though. All sorts of Porsches, Bimmers, GM Products, tons of prototypes and cool one-offs, and of course three incredible Supras.

All around a ton of fun.

Glad you have fun brother! We should have a meet up somewhere in the middle. And I promise to limit my brain 🧠 picking time to a minimal on poor you and Bryan. Y’all close to Road Atlanta or VIR? It’d be fun as hell to have a giant Supra meetup 🤩

Of course, y’all welcome to Sebring or Homestead in the winter anytime!

SCDA does VIR once a year, and ever since that old Top Gear when the gang brought the 458, GT3 RS, and whatever that AMG monster Clarkson was driving to VIR I've wanted to go.

That would be beyond awesome to do a meetup somewhere in the middle!

Thoughts on running a 15mm spacer on 65mm studs? I test fit my rears (275/19) on the front and based on that I should be able to get around 14 full rotations on my lug nuts.

Also I've seen the recommendation to replace studs and nuts each year, would titanium ones hold up longer? I'll need to buy new ones at the end of this season so I was wondering if titanium ones would be a better long term purchase.

You're absolutely at 100% strength with 14 full rotations. You should be fine.

  • Paco Motorsports Hubstands are worth every last penny. Great piece of kit. They will work very well with corner scales once I have coilovers on the car.
I Tell people this all. The. time. They keep telling me they are too expensive. If only there were a way to let people try them first. They would be instantly sold! Priceless.

  • Always always always WASH YOU CAR BEFORE YOU TEAR IT APART! It had been about 10 days since my last wash and it made everything that much dirtier.
You wash your car?

A bit of HPDE advice I'd give after my last event: sign up for an open passing group.
Now that I have to be competitive and have something at stake, I found a huge amount of frustration not being able to get a timed lap in, due to traffic.
Open passing makes things so much easier and, subsequently, more enjoyable.

No such thing here on the East Coast unfortunately. I am used to open passing groups from when I was in California so these last two years have been a bit frustrating.

The only group I have found here that does that is Hooked on Driving and it's only in one group and only certain tracks. Unfortunately, the times I have signed up for that group, there wasn't enough interest so it got lumped into their ordinary advanced group that is point-by only.

Brutal.
I ended up in 3rd place at my last event because my group had an old dude, in a Miata, who refused to do over 75mph and would proudly announce he was only going to point by at three, specific spots on the track. That's great unless you're 8th in line behind him and have to wait until his second or third point by. Then you catch him again within a few laps.
I decided, then, to only do open passing unless there were no other options.
