Hey everyone, I'm trying to build a complete "story" of how my car got to me so to speak. I took delivery at the beginning of February, but I can't seem to find any way to look up what vessel it was on, when it was made, etc. The toyota tracker website long stopped working (it didnt' even show my vin when I took delivery, but it did before hand).

If anyone can point me to where I can find info like build date, vessel it was on, port entry, etc, I'd appreciate it!

Build date (month) should be on a plate on the car and I believe the VIN has information coded into it too. As for shipping, not sure.. my dealer told me what boat mine was on. You could try reaching out to the stock controller at your dealership and get them to run a search?

Once you have the name of the ship it's on then you can use one of many maritime trackers to keep a track on it.

Yeah, I tracked mine but I found on most of those sites, histories are hidden behind a paywall. OP doesn't even have a boat name so his dealer should have that information to kick things off.

Happen to have your VIN? I'll see if I can find your vessel info the way I was able to find mine.

I wouldn't mindl I've used the toyota tracker already though, and its long since stopped providing information about my car. Do you have another way to go about it?

I'm checking to find the VIN on their freight company's actual bill of lading for their vessel shipments from the Zeebrugge port in Belgium. If it's on a boat, I might be able to find it.

Do Supras ship out of Zeebrugge or Bremerhaven, or both? How do you find the bill of lading?

I took delivery of it in February, so its been off the boat for quite some time. Do you think you might be able to still dig up some information though? I'll PM you the Vin if so. I appreciate it!

Evil, I sent you a Pm also! My sales guy had basically disappeared after I put down $1,000.

I think BMW's go out of Zee and Bremerhaven, there is also a large "holding lot" in Northern Germany not too far from those two ports as well.

Bremerhaven is a huge port. I picked up my very first brand new car (1989 CRX Si) at the Bremerhaven port when I was stationed in Germany. They did not ship them to your city, you had to go to the port and pick it up.

Sales guy called me this morning and now he says his system shows it shipping on 6/24 and hitting USA (not sure which port, I am in Ohio) on 7/5.

Mine just arrived in the states, showing processing set for 06/22. Definitely call your sales guy once a week, this stuff is in so much flux right now

I hope you all had a better experience with your "Sales Guy" than I did. I put in a request to be contacted initially, and the Business supervisor got back to me, not a sales person. She was great to deal with.

When it came time to put down my deposit, that is when I met my "Sales Person." She took my 1,000$ and was insanely sporadic applying to texts. I got the vibe that she wasn't in the process of selling me a car, so my time was on the back burner and she didn't like being inconvenienced when I'd test for questions or an update.

I asked one day where I was in line, I was told 1st, so I was happy about that. I get a call that a car might be coming in but they have to check with management. I get a Vin number off toyotas inventory searching portion of their website. Few hours later, I get told the car is going to someone who put a deposit down back in september (this was January).

Arguably at that point my attitude turned from confused to annoyed, and I asked why I was told I was 1st and now i'm not. Her response was "we are human and make mistakes"
Well, she made a big one. So I called one of the sales managers and asked them to tell me exactly what position I was in line, because apparently they couldn't do that correctly. I was told 4th. So at this point I settled in and prepared for a 6+ month wait to a year at least.

Ironically enough a month or so later, I get a call from her out of the blue that they have one coming in tomorrow and I needed to confirm whether or not I wanted it, so I did. I get to the dealer the next day, and it was the same car that they had called me about a few weeks ago that I was originally #1 in line for.

To this day I still have no idea what the hell went on with that, maybe the person in front of me found one somewhere else, that doesn't mean the other two-three people would have declined, or maybe they did.

Either way, the one I was originally allocated..then not...then allocated again, became the one I own now.

The whole purchase experience was...not great. Like, I'm not one expecting people to kiss my ass, but the sales person wasn't very warm. She wasnt' rude but she sure as hell wasn't overly friendly. I wasn't expecting a white glove treatment because I was buying a Supra, but I was expecting some more polite ness.

Maybe its because I did all that work locating the car and putting the deposit down. She was still getting her commission, what did she care?

Finance office didn't get anything out of me, though.

But yes, that is my purchase story. Anyone have anything similar?
