From what we have been seeing, it seems like they won't have the "TOYOTA" label anymore and it will be the logo with model designation only. This isn't just with their sports cars, they have done this with the new Camry, RAV4 and both Corollas. I am personally disappointed, as I think that "TOYOTA" label on the bottom left or bottom right corner of the rear end actually gave a nice touch. Unlike the majority of this forum, I do not like de-badging ANY of my cars. If I want it stock (which I generally prefer), I keep it factory showroom stock. I digress, anyways it's safe to say that they're doing without the label now.

Regarding your second question, yes! The LC 500 does in fact have one (you should remember this isn't the old days anymore, it would be messed up if they DIDN'T have a backup camera) and it is not for the rear hatch if that's what you're thinking. The button for the trunk is on the right taillight surround as shown below.

A better question would be where would the trunk button for the Supra be? Be it if there would be one at all?

For all the questions about button or backup camera, remember it is a federal mandate on all new cars now...

I'm imagining trunk button hidden away above the license plate like my Mustang or integrated with the Toyota logo.

Toyota has really done an excellent job of carrying over a lot of the FT-1 styling to the production version.
Agreed. Toyota did a fair enough job of incorporating many of the design cues of the concept FT-1 onto the production Supra. Sure they didn't use elements like the mirrors, partially transparent hood or active-aero. However, my own experience as an engineer led me to suspect that these things weren't coming.

Yet when it comes to the subject of concept vs production cars, there have been great leaps in progress. As example: what now-defunct Pontiac billed as the concept Sunfire in 1990 versus what they sold in '95...

i guess i am in the minority preferring the black-surrounds on the emblem...

the main reason is that it doesn't require a q-tip to clean :D
Thatā€™s a point. And in my eyes even on lighter colors (like white) it looks better with black background/sourrounds. And if itā€™s really the trunk opener, it makes even more sense.

Call me crazy, but I'm actually liking the MK5 Supra booty more than the FT-1's. All it needs is a wing and it'd be perfect ;)
Being how similar Toyota kept the MKV to the FT1 concept, I'm hoping the Alpha car we're all anticipating has a similar wing to the concept as well!...even with the active wing being out the window, I think a stationary version would fit the body lines well!

I agree, a stationary wing that looks like the one on the FT-1 would be perfect!
