The biggest improvement I notice was improved smoothness on the shifts from 1 -> 2 and 2->3. My shift knob is closer to 320g (.7 lb) and like @FuzzyRev85 mentioned I would be a bit concerned if the 725g of yours starts to numb away thing instead of allowing you to feel a crisp feedback.

Another thing to keep in mind is that with the addition of the adapter that you will need for that knob, you might end up needing a custom boot. It definitely looks like yours will be a bit taller than what most of us have installed and it's already a tough to get enough of the oem boot to make it look good. You could risk not being able move the lever throughout its full swing without the oem boot tugging on it.
Thanks for that info! I had the 610g on my honda, but seems like ~400g seem to be ideal on these cars. I've also gotten used to the shifter now so I'll listen to you all in regards to weight.

I was planning on sewing a custom boot anyway since I've done that before. Didnt think about the height though so good catch. Ill take another look at the Raceseng stuff. It was just significantly more expensive.

I personally feel that 350-400g is the true sweet spot for this linkage. Yes, Raceseng is kinda pricey, but my God it's worth it. Phenomenal quality, and every time you touch it you'll regret nothing.

You wont regret the Raceseng. Their quality is just too top notch and all the different options they sell also helps give the car a more unique touch.

If you ever find the plastic bezel for the boot sold by itself please share. I'm gonna be trying to make a mold out of mine to cast a few spares out of epoxy and maybe make the piece a bit thicker to add some strength. Just hope I can get the staples out without ruining it.

This? Our cars need the NTA version of the collar.

or are you talking about the plastic trim ring that’s attached to the leather boot that snaps into the center console?

Yeah the plastic trim. I searched for the PN on the sticker that mine has but no luck. tried to 3D print similar ones but matching the shape has proven to be a pain.

not going to be everyone’s cup of tea….

i am saving to order the Raceseng adapter, shift boot collar and knob. In the meantime, I got bored and prime one dayed a cheap knob and knob adapter got to work. Since I didnt have a boot collar i cut and repurposed a piece i had lying around from my hsk bov kit to use as a collar.

I think you dun goofed, because what you cut off is where the Raceseng adapter attaches.

No goof here. Raceseng makes all sorts of adapters. The NTA one has a screw up top and at the bottom from the pics ive seen. If the ID of the adapter slips over and holds using the bottom screw itll be fine. I cut it purposely to lower the height. Its not lower at the moment because i have that collar on but could go lower with this temp set up without the collar. I have thread locker on so not going to take it apart to show what i mean. Ill post pics when i have my final set up done

The color looks neat with the all black interior.

The Raceseng NTA should be able to catch all 4 screws without issues with the amount you left on there but I would suggest you keep the piece that was cut. The NTA threads for the knob may collapse a bit if that is left hollow so you can just put it back to add some strength back in there.

Woah you’re the first person I’ve seen that has RAISED the height of the knob! Interesting! Not my style but if it works for you, that’s cool!

Yeah I wasn't too sure at first but wanted to give it a try. After a few days feels completely normal and I dig it! Also really easy to just take the extender off lol
