MT Shift Knob Options (NOT Raceseng)

Hey no problem at all. Had to did up my stuff but yes I got bmw fitment with a vw style boot retainer. Be known the knob will sit up a bit higher than stock on the rod. Makes the shifts a bit vague I found. It’s significantly heavier than stock. I after a few months went back to a stock knob and just improved the shifter feel by getting an aftermarket shifter assembly from autosolutions.

I ended up not using the boot retainer with my shift boot for BFI or the OEM boot. So I wouldn't say it's a necessary buy.

I'm still on my BFI boot and Billetworkz knob with a short shifter, feels really good and firm but I wouldn't mind switching to the Final Edition shift boot/knob with the red ring for aesthetic purposes.

Do you recall the cost or a guess on hours? Did they explain the process at all, did you stick around and wait for the work to be done or drop it off?

Dropped the car off. It took them the better part of the day to do it. There’s a detailed installation video here that can kinda inform you on how much work is involved.
