Contemplating wheel spacers too. I’ve seen a lot of comments it’s okay to add spacers while tracking but do spacers cause any issues with the camber plates?

I'm fairly certain it should make no difference, but maybe someone else will chime in with more experience.

Spacers work fine

just make sure the spacers are wheel *and* hub centric, and that you have long enough studs or bolts for enough thread engagement.

I had camber Verus plates and they were just fine. Unfortunately I bought springs that were too low & needed to make a change anyways. Coulda shoulda…. stock suspension woulda been just fine. Go for as much negative camber as you can up front (up to -3.2) and your tires will thank you.


Dang mothafocka! That is hauling ass w/out coilovers. I’d like to think most of you guys also have sway bars as well. Regardless, proof it don’t take much ?


I know seats would normally be the 1st upgrade to do but I‘m really trying to keep her as close to stock (looking) - very odd for a track car indeed. Anyway, a Supra buddy uses knee pads at the track - so I bought some too, world of difference, lol. I also got seat belt locks. It really helps! But I know real seats with a harness would be way better and cut my lap times down - more connected, increasing confidence.



Love it! Your car being the exception on how to optimize this Supra for track. How does your buddy with the red Supra do on that same track? You two seem to be pretty evenly matched. Assuming he doesn’t have the Catalyst.

I'm on board with keeping the car stock. Mine looks completely stuck, basically. The seat was a unnecessary item. My lap times were suffering (I'm in a points chase), I was getting beat up, But most importantly I couldn't feel anything the car was doing because I wasn't able to relax my arms and legs on the controls.
That's huge to me.

The M4 GT4 race car uses big ass 32mm spacers. They are even in the parts catalog.

I will say sway bars, if you decide on SPL lower control arms

On a full turn I can get these two can audibly connect. Not my intention, so we’re going to use the adjustable SPL endlinks and move the sway bars down further. This is up in the air, so it shouldn’t take much and ideally the sway bars will be horizontal (under compression) and out of the way.

Otherwise good track inspection and here at Sebring. Looking forward to getting back on track! Should loose a few pounds today. Still hot ?. Expect better weather tomorrow.

Set a personal best yesterday at an odd ball track mostly used for combat driver and shooting.

Eibach sway bars are a bit too long with the SPL lower control arms. On a full turn (again not going to do full turns on the track but…) I can get these two to connect and make a noise. Not my intention, so we’re going to take her back a notch and cut her down before next track day - Daytona.

Otherwise good track inspection and here at Sebring. Looking forward to getting back on track! Should loose a few pounds today. Still hot ?. Expect better weather tomorrow.


Turns out there is less than 10% difference btwn each of the softer settings on the Eibach bar and the first. You should not notice much of a difference cutting the last out. I have mine in the middle and the car is quite well balance

I have the Verus plates with OEM springs, struts and tires. I daily drive and have two track days with the plates thus far. I can say the plates are quiet and the car drives like OEM on the street including the highway. The max camber with my setup is -3.1 with the spring perch up against strut tower. I chalked my tires and indeed the OEM tires are not rolling over onto the sidewall as they were before. I am collecting thermal data but need several more sessions.

I can tell you in the offroad world spacers can be a big deal as they change the scrub radius which does influence handling. I'm not sure it is a big deal on the track.

Huh, interesting. I understand that spacers are used in various events and such but such a big spacer seems like a detriment. I was just reading the other day, the Cyber Evo was running 18x10.5s with 50mm spacers all around. Just seems odd that an unlimited time attack car would do that when they could get different wheels with a more negative offset. Maybe I'm missing something?

spacers are a cheap roll center adjustment since most GT4 cars can’t run aftermarket control arms.

Yes and they also provide the effect of a slight reduction in spring rate as well.

Also with a macpherson strut when camber is added the scrub radius will change, adding spacers will get you back to where it was.
