I personally think the sound clips of the hks hi power are better than awe to me. But to each their own
I think HKS is much more quiet and smoothed out. The AWE has character and is much louder while being quiet in the car.

Good notes on it! For me who has an obnoxiously loud other car it sounds like a calmer hks is my path lol!

Depends what you're going for, AT And MT will be pretty similar in terms of drone tolerance.

We got almost every exhaust in stock.. Depending if you want valved or not too.

As you can see there has been a massive improvement in airflow from gen 1 to gen 2.
This one is pretty good for the automatics. I'm not sure if it's going to work for the manuals tho.

I'm running a Whifbitz downpipe, Akrapovic link pipes and the Akrapovic silencer; practically no drone at all - although there is a bit of resonance at about 59.9mph in 6th that is specific to within about 10rpm! :p

OEM downpipe w/aFe Takeda has been pretty good for me. No drone on the highway in 6th gear at 70+ with the valve closed. Slight drone with it open. Sounds rowdy without being obnoxious. I used their resonator delete, which might be too loud with a catless DP but it gives you options.

That sounds pretty good and I appreciate the input, but what’s the rattling sound on the cold start?

I think that's just the way it comes across, there is no rattle when I start the car.

I had one before I went AWE Touring...the valve rattled and sounded awful. The Injen also drones and booms quite loud with any aftermarket downpipe. Not bad with the stock DP. Sounds good outside though!

I cannot recommend the AWE Touring enough though

Hard to tell by video, but the non-res is louder and has some more character to it:

I'm running a tomei single exit, AA catted downpipe, dinan intake. VERY tolerable on the highway. Nice sound just cruising and when you're in it. It's a bit noisey on initial starts but doesn't last long. Overall would highly recommend. Tomei is a nice option without sacrificing quality but it also better for the wallet.

if you’re going with single exit, I recommend you to go with MADE Motorsports exhaust. They are making single exit titanium exhaust and their midpipe comes with a resonator unlike SP1-R if you are concerned about drone, the resonator reduce the drone, not the volume. I almost had one year now with this exhaust and I’m happy with it. Here is a photo that shows the resonator.

Next mod will be non-resonanted midpipe from them. I contacted them and they customized it for me. It’s going to be shipped soon. I would like to see the difference between resonanted and non-resonated

I'm running a catless downpipe and HKS exhaust (not the quiet Turbo version). No droning, but pretty violent during cold starts and WOT.

My Supra is not manual but I have an HKS Hi-Power exhaust and I can definitely recommend it. If you're on the highway cruising above 2k rpms you will still hear the exhaust but it wont be rattling the entire inside of the cabin. I swapped from my Magnaflow exhaust for that exact reason. That exhaust would literally make my interior plastics rattle and with the HKS all the vibrations are gone.

I did make a video with interior audio clips if it helps at all
