If a house is your dream, go for it! You can always buy another Supra later. Just get the best deal on that home so you make enough money when you eventually sell it. Then you can go find another Supra ?
^ This is the best advice...

-----------------

Owning a home should be a top priority as it's an appreciating asset...

You can always purchase another sports car after you're settled in your new home and are financially stable to do so...And in the meantime there are also other sports cars available which are fun as hell to drive and far less expensive as the Supra to own...

Also holding on to any new mass-produced car for 10~15 years thinking it's going to appreciate in value is foolish!

do you actually want an investment or just an excuse to keep the car? highly doubt a car can beat a low cost index fund over 20 years.

an exclusive supercar, maybe (but insurance and maintenance might cancel out all your gains). a toyota, no. a bmw, absolutely not.

Step one: Walk into your bathroom and look in the mirror.

Step two: State out loud what you typed earlier “this might be worth something in fifteen years”

Step three: Repeat step two until it really sinks in.

Sound advice for most decisions in life.

Thanks for the advice fellas. Am I wrong in thinking Supras hold their value?

Not sure your Supra or mine (also a ‘21) will appreciate. You know what will appreciate? A house. Even if you already own and are wanting to get another house or a more expensive one, and assuming you buy the right place with the right loan - that’s going to be more financially smart than keeping the Supra. No where near as fun - but decide what your priorities are and remember that you’ll get another fun car if you sell.

Also, you know you’ll just sell the Supra at some point in the next several years later like the rest of us who say we’ll ’keep this one forever’ ?

personal advise would sell the supra and buy cash for old Corolla/civic so you can put a down on your home.
If you're interested, my 33 year old son has a 2003 Corolla with 323k miles on the odometer. ? Still runs great but the problem is, I might buy it.
All kidding aside, your home should be the most important thing at your stage of life. I was 58 years old when I purchased my MKV and have no regrets.
I have wanted a Supra since I first saw the MK3, but I couldn't afford it. Why? I wasn't loaded and I had kids to raise and a house payment to pay. Patience is a virtue and your family is most important.
I finally got my prize Supra and am very happy with the BMW joint venture. A BMW B58 engine is not a bad thing.
Who knows what options will be available to the younger Toyota fans in the future but I will say that I would really love to be around to see it.
As a piston engine fan, I jumped on this car. Looove it

Ok, take this as a consideration, the car that I have owned (and I have owned quite a lot of them within the typical price range that most people can afford, so no supercars) that has appreciated the most is a 1972 Datsun 240Z and it has appreciated about $30K since i bought it about 25 years ago.
Now the house that I bought 8 years ago has appreciated more than $450K
Make the math :)

I do love cars and would really love to keep many of them forever, but most don't make sense at all besides the "fun" or simple "love" factor.
So you only should keep them if all more important things in life are covered and safe already.

Nope, not a young gun. I’ve already owned a home. Got divorced, bought the car, I currently live in a rental and own property in Astoria, Oregon. I’m thinking as much as I love this rental with killer views, recently renovated, The landlord could decide to sell it anytime. Selling my property plus the car would give me a sweet down payment to buy a nice home here.
My apologies thinking you live with parents. Seems like you been through a lot. Buying the Supra seems very smart at that moment in your life, better than driving down to Mexico for hookers and cocaine. Looks like your ready to rebuilt your life. Good luck!
