I just came across this GitHub project which I think the Android folk may want to examine more closely. As a member of the iPhone Elite I honestly don't know anything about it but it's nice to throw the lower classes a bone from time to time. ?

MMI is "expensive" but you get full Android Auto, first thing I did to my car. Still silly that it's not factory installed in a 2020+ vehicle.

I tested a fork for Walter Huf last night.
If you load up Bimmercode and search for ENTWICKLER_MENUE in the headunit and change it to Aktiv, you gain pretty much the same functionality as BMW/Mini
Note you'll need to use the APK here for now: https://bimmergestalt.s3.amazonaws....e-latest-j29_as_bmw-mapbox-sentry-release.apk
I'd strongly recommend waiting for the app update to get pushed.
Edit: I'd highly recommend supporting the project if you can - there's a "buy me a coffee" link in the repo
It's a whole lot cheaper and easier than buying an MMI box ;D

Heya, lead developer of AAIdrive here! I signed up here because I'm so excited to share the news, and then you spoiled the surprise! <3
That's right, AAIdrive now fully supports Toyota Supra (after coding the Supra to have ENTWICKLER_MENUE aktiv)! I just merged it to main this morning, along with some text updates to give instructions in the app, and the latest build is ready for you to try out! After further testing, I'll push it out to the Play Store
There's pictures for proof on the Github discussion.
It's definitely not a full Android Auto replacement, but I love that the features are more natively integrated into IDrive.

Can't wait to give this a try! I have an MMI box but the audio output quality is trash. I'm willing to give up a little bit of the pure AA experience in favor of something that sounds better. So exciting!

From what I understand it's being pulled via the AAIDrive app.
I'm traveling this week; it'll be a blank entry available in the Connected Services menu

AAIdrive is able to load the Detailed Vehicle Info and show it in AAIdrive's phone interface (or the CDS Details addon), but it won't be able to show the information into the car screen without coding and using the new version.

What MMI do you have? The output on mine's way better than stock, but that's because the MMI has its own EQ. If you adjust both the MMI and iDrive's EQ, the sound quality's actually good

RoadTop MMI. I haven't touched the MMI's EQ, as I don't really like double EQing, but the USB-AUX audio is noticeably muddier than native Bluetooth.

I have exactly that one. I can send you a pic of my EQ settings! The stock EQ doesn't sound great on the MMI

In the meantime, I've started setting up the app and it appears part of the Spotify integration doesn't work. Not sure if it's an app issue, an issue accessing certain APIs on my OnePlus phone, an issue with the Spotify v AAIdrive versions, etc.

Clicking these circled buttons does nothing.
