Well, i got another wheel on the radar too, 18x10.5 with ET32.
I wana run with no spacers, prob 295/30 r18 tire, stock height, -3.2 front camber.

Point is i dont wana rub anything with tire, no susp compenets nor fenders, liners etc so that is my concern.

Definitely no spacers? I was rubbing prior to getting mine. They make it a lot easier to tuck under the fender & get that extra neg camber. I have 10mm all around w/ stud conversion.

I'm curious, how does adding a spacer make it easier to tuck under the fender?

Seems counter intuative to me to get the wheel to stick out 10mm more but still be aesier to tuck under the fender

Well, i can buy same wheel with lower ET, no? They can be custom made and say 18x10.5 fits Supra stock suspension with ETs from 25 to 35.

My $.02 on cramming as much wheel and tire under the car as possible...It's about the Goldilocks "just right" combo of width, weight, and price for me.
- Absolutely must have same wheel front and back. I swap tires around frequently to squeeze every bit of wear out of track tires.
- If I bend/break a wheel, it needs to not make me cry financially. My current wheels are UBER cheap, and I know I won't find that again. But...that's why I don't do stuff like Volks or other $4K for set wheels.
- I don't mind spacers. Yes, they do accelerate wear on wheel bearings, but I generally don't keep a car long enough for that to be an issue. It's even less of an issue with the Supra since I started with a new car. I also keep a close watch on my car, and have a well-tuned "what's that noise" ear.

Spacers don't really impact tucking tires in the fenderwell, but are part of the whole system of getting as much tire and wheel on the car - spacers let you use a not-perfect-offset wheel.

If anyones in the market for a wing, I have a UCW Swan Neck (with the vented endplates or standards) for sale down in Atlanta. No boxes big enough to trust to ship, though.

Anyone have a good VIR Patriot course reference lap for me to study? Found lots of stuff for Full and Grand, but not Patriot. At least, not one I can have some confidence is a good line/pace to emulate. I'll be there this weekend. I thought it was going to be Full/Grand, which I've been studying/siming, but seems like Patriot will be on the schedule too.

Have done full, grand, north. But not patriot. Patriot is really short I believe
Have fun

Which coilovers are you using? If the springs are normal coilover size, that combo will work with no issues.

I have run 295/30/18 on 18x10.5 +35 and 295/35/18 on 18x11 +40 with zero issues with inside contact.

Yeah, good point. Not well said on my part. Ability for more tilt (neg camber) and not hit the springs ?

If I could do it without it, I would. It just seems to work better when we’ve tried with and without.

The whole strut assembly with hub knuckle pivots with negative camber so adding a spacer won't give you more clearance as it angles. The clearance from tire to strut will stay the same with camber adjustment.

thanks for the explaination.

As mentioned by Bryan, I think the spacer has more to do with fitting a 10.5" wheel with the wrong offset up front without contacting the strut than being able to add more camber

Likewise thank you both for the explanation - What you both said ? My thought was it moved me further away from the spring/strut & allowed the alignment guru to dial in more negative camber. Guess it’s not that simple. I do have more neg camber up front going into this weekend. Hopefully she’ll feel fantastic at FARA (Homestead) & not wear my outer front tires as much ?

Hey ya'll, just wrapped up my third track event this past weekend. First two events were great in learning the car's manners on the track and becoming a smoother driver. Just before the third event I upgraded the rear traction arms and toe links via Megan Racing. Definitely noticed better feel through the rear end, though now I think the bottleneck is the tires (still on the original set when I got the car 4 years ago) and possibly a little more roll in the corners than I'd like. I also upgraded to SS brake lines and Endless RF650 brake fluid.

In all honesty I think I'm still quite a ways away from this car's limits, but the lack of grip from the aging rubber is not exactly confidence inspiring either. These are the upgrades I'm thinking of adding over time to the car as I continue to track it so any feedback would be greatly appreciated:

- Upgraded tires w/ PS4S with 265/35/19 up front and 285/35/19 on the rear for stock wheels
- Front/Rear Sway bars
- Big Brake Kit via Signature Werks
- Coilovers?? (see below)

My burning question is I've heard a lot about coilovers yet don't understand their benefit. I've been told by some they're not very useful but clearly there are a lot of members here using them for the track and I wanted to hear your thoughts on why you use them?
