Beyond the S58 idiocy, it was a fairly good guess Toyota would adopt the GRMN moniker. I wonder why they didn't. And as stupid as GRMN sounds, whoever thought calling a trim "partially upgraded" needs to take some meds.

It's because the English press release is a direct translation of the Japanese version, which is here. I deal with Japanese documents for a living (corporate attorney) and, as strange as it sounds, the same expression reads perfectly fine in Japanese context.

We'd think a huge corporation like Toyota would have someone competent translating press releases, but... ?‍
