Firstly, the Supra is a street car. It is not a race car. Sure, it is fast and we can race them but without serious modification, Supra's are not race cars. Due to their form, the Supra's raison d'être is primarily for enjoyment and secondly, transportation. Stop pretending you own an automatic NASCAR; You don't.

And.. a manual transmission is by definition more engaging. It literally requires a skill not present in automatics. This isn't a debate, it's a fact, lol.. but keep flapping your paddles in MaNUaL MoDE.

I'd link the video but the quote should suffice: "If my grandmother had wheels she would've been a bicycle." PDKs are also automatics, we just pretend they're not because after a manual transmission, they're the least worst option.

Except when real racecar drivers beg their racecar team to build a manual supercar.

Please don't think that providing automatic transmissions in super cars was nothing but a financial decision, both from a manufacturing standpoint and critically, a way to market cars to as many stipidly rich customers as possible.

I think all the automatic "racers" would be surprised to see what transmission actual racecar drivers prefer to drive in their spare time.
Lol...

Lewis Hamilton (7x F1 World Champion)
(When asked about H-pattern manuals in racing)

> "That would slow us down massively. Everything today is about milliseconds. Gear changes need to be immediate, not something you think about."

---

2. Sebastian Vettel (4x F1 World Champion)
(On modern paddles and gearboxes)

> "It’s so precise now that it's all about the driving — not the gear changing. That's how it should be in racing."

---

3. Alex Zanardi (IndyCar legend)
(After switching to sequential gearboxes)

> "It’s better for racing. There's no missed shifts, no blown engines. You can focus 100% on pushing the car."

---

4. Tony Stewart (NASCAR driver, 3x Champion)
(When NASCAR announced the move to sequential gearboxes)

> "It's smarter. It's faster. It's time
. You can't cling to the past forever."

Nope, not surprised they all admit auto is better.

Again, 100k+ cars and it's hard to find a manual. Why?

Enjoy your manual and extra seconds. To each their own. The Supra changed my mind, but clearly not everyone's.

I've bolded the section you missed. Driver quotes about their contractual obligations don't mean much, lol.

Nah, don't care to read your hurt feelings. You're allowed to like your manual, even if it's slower.

You are really into penis and gay stuff. I'm not your boyfriend quit hitting on me

Why are you so sensitive about autos existing that it makes you gay rage or fixate on dicks?

MT trans holding up to 700+ torque on several cars. How's the auto hold up at that power?
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
wait a fucken min!
The amount of time and money to detach the trans from the block to upgrade for more power. The Auto would net a better result. HA!

Why do some of you care so much what other people think? You prefer one thing someone else prefers something else.

Who cares. It’s not like they are using the wrong oil or something…

I got this car when there was no manual. Had there been I would have gotten her that way. Now that I‘ve driven this thing on track, I’d buy the auto ? again. Was supposed to be a daily driver & then I used the stupid freakin track day…. Never expected her to be this much dadgum fun. This car on paper is nothing compared to listening to that earplug required AWE track exhaust w/ catless dp & ZF trans ripping though the gears on track rapidly, downshifting so stupidly fast in an apex going around other cars…. Oh hell with the YUS!!!!!!

So I’m with all y’all’s that the sum of the parts shouldn’t be this way but they are. I’m glad I mistakenly tried her, bought her and now it’s all I want on track. In town, the 6 speed would probably be more “engaging” not pushing her so hard. But when she is pushed hard, they rip so fast it’s a blast ?
EDIT *(in my slower MX5 - you have time to row thru the gears shifting on track - but in this thang - it’d be hilarious trying to do the same thang with the track times this mofo is capable of - just sayin)*

Alright… back to the name calling and only the manual (like the car magizines taught us to think) is worthy. What the Fock do I know ?
