I can see it now....in 5 years Toyota stops production of this car due to poor sales because of these unnecessary mark-ups from dealers.

We know there are 1500 LEs alone. 320 cars included some premiums but not many. That tells us at least ~1200 LEs are still being held up at the port or are sitting in a showroom (probably with inflated pricing). If the 7/22 launch had gone according to schedule *and* dealers were realistic with price, I bet all 1500 LEs would have sold quickly.

Are you saying that about 320 cars have been delivered to customers?
I know a lot of LE's have been on hold, but I did not know it was a thousand or more vehicles.

I'm still waiting on my LE to show up at the dealer. Supposedly now it's sometime next week. It's about 3 hours away now but has been there for over a week.

this is my guess on the LEs...25% on hold..50% sold...25% sitting at showrooms with high mark ups. The 320 number was just from July 22 to end of July.

320 was the July sales figures mentioned up in #162.

Ok let's stop being drama queens... Mark ups will die down over time. This happens every time something new comes out. Remember when some stealerships were asking $35k on a $25k FR-S?
Exactly

Once upon a time (when they were new), rental grade cars like the Chrysler 200ā€™s were selling like hot cakes and production had to be ramped up to meet demand. If you wanted one when it came out, it was marked up.

Remember the PT Cruiser? Those were so hot that you couldnā€™t find one for almost a freakin year when they first came out. Fast forward today and youā€™d have trouble giving one away.

It happens and it will go away. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m laughing when people think theyā€™re really gonna walk into a dealership and actually find a 2020 C8 for $59,995 for that actual asking price when it first comes out.

Itā€™s just the way the game is, thatā€™s all.

Yup, not to mention all the add ons is going to quickly raise that $60k price tag.

I remember when I got my 2001 Mustang GT Ford had a markup on the Thunderbird. A year later they were discounted. Now Iā€™m not saying youā€™ll see rebates on Supras but the add on will go away in time.

I can almost guarantee the Supra will be sold below MSRP in a year or two. You pay to play.

I just put a deposit down for a 1LT C8 (base) for MSRP. So itā€™s definitely possible, just gotta look for dealers that sell MSRP

Also worth mentioning, the Z51 pack is only $5k to the base price.
