I'll do my best

You should be running P158 firmware for gen2 b58.
I run V34 to help with the EWG fault codes

For manuals we want to "under boost" so I run my PID at 0

FF is per map
With 94 I'd try this on Map 2. Look at timing to double check if its good gas.
(v34 timing will reflect corrections. i.e. if it says 3 that's 3 degrees of correction)

Boost safety 23
PID Gain 20
Shift Boost Red 0
FF/WG Adp 20
Fuel Open Loop 60

FF is general curve, adjusting duty cycle is fine tuning the curve.

Lower FF where there are large throttle closures
Lower FF where torque higher than 47

I hope this helps
If you are running a manual just unlock it … trust me no one has more time in a 6mt on a jb4 testing and tuning than I do … you can get it to move pretty good on the jb4 but it will always be unpredictable

Thanks I’ll try to follow those guidelines for the FF adjustment. Had a clean run today in map 6 and didn’t get the same throttle closure. Hoping I can just dial in map 6 and run that most of the time. Do you go with PID gain on 0 in all your maps?

P358 is the firmware for the new JB4PRO unit I bought. It’s still pretty new so I haven’t found much info on it.

Yeah I may do that eventually but after having the car basically stock for 3 years I figured this was a good starting point.

Sadly a lot of people have jumped ship to unlock+MHD/BM3 because state-side unlocks are a thing and are so cheap that JB4 barely makes sense anymore.

If you're serious about running JB4 long term and unlocking is out of the question, I highly recommend just buying a Jesse tune. Better than spending a ton of time self-tuning unless you enjoy it tbh. It's pricey given how cheap unlocks are now though.
I don’t totally mind the DIY part, but do kind of wish I could just spend a few hours on a dyno somewhere and get it dialed in. Put a lot of extra miles on the car playing around with this thing lol.

If its a 6mt it really isnt a good starting point. I used it at first because I wanted to go through each step from stock, to jb4, to mhd+jb4, to full tune and there is no comparison if you get the right tuner. The throttle closures, the fuel trims, the lean AFRs, the inconsistencies all suck on the JB4 and I was a huge promoter in the past when i was running it but now that the unlocks are done here in the US and cheap there is no real reason to use the JB4 anymore. The autos have it much easier but if you log your pulls you will see all kinds of throttle closures on the 6mt

Hello, I just installed a jb4 on my 22 Supra 3.0 I’m currently running map1 and I have a data log here. If someone could give it a look and make sure everything look in order that would be much appreciated. I have no previous tuning experience so I don’t know very much about what I’m looking at in the log. Thanks in advance!https://datazap.me/u/reedsoopra/log...hannels=1x4-34&sizes=50x50&sc=1-4&axes=shared

Actually ran OTS for one afternoon- long enough to realize it was trash compared to Adam’s tune.

DME was out of the car less than 48 hours and I could follow it with an air tag the whole time.

As you can all probably figure out from this whole thread, @ColonelAdama is awesome to work with and is super knowledgeable/ transparent. Understood my goals and got me dialed in accordingly, quickly, with a few revisions all done in one weekend.

Hope my experience helps anyone on the fence about unlock/custom tune.

JB4 customer service was great and did try to get me running well with the piggyback, just wasn’t “plug and play” with the new pro unit and 6MT. It may be still be a good solution for others.
