I am fairly certain the 1-2 shift behavior is tied to anti-jerk logic in the calibration.

Hopefully in my ownership and DIY tuning adventures, I will find a way to resolve it :)
if you ever find a way to disable rev match and hill start forever I will pay

Its defined in the Gen 1 b58 tables... to enable/disable rev match@razorlab , think it exists in gen 2?

I could poke around in the hex at some point.

Revisiting this thread. Debating on trading in the auto for the manual.
Had a 19 Mustang GT with the MT-82 which was dog shit even with the lightweight clutch. Constant rev hang & lockouts in 3rd n 4th which led me to the auto supra. Is the rev hang often and has anybody experienced lockouts?

Not had rev hang or lockouts.

I would suggest you have a test drive before you decide.

The supra does not have a lockout in the transmission. Its not just the rev hang, there is a big drop in gearing (drive ratios) from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, which will not let you row through gears as quickly as you would want to and do it smoothly.

Love my MT Supra but it does annoy me when I cant get a smooth shift. I keep telling myself I'll adapt to it eventually. Maybe I'm just spoiled from my old Miata.
