Don't forget horrible wind noise when the windows are down on the highway
Almost all modern cars have that issue. You get better aerodynamics but sacrifice wind noise when the windows are down.

Bootmod 3 is the software to make ecu changes via an ecu flash correct? I want to know if this is what titan motorsports uses. Or if they truly use their developed piggyback

Yup, JB4 and the Titan motorsport is a piggy back , it tricks the ecu.

It’s the worst lol, but I believe it is a problem with body design the wind gets in the car and it try’s to exit the same window that is the problem.. I believe.

My other car which has more room “4 seater” I don’t experience the wind noise at any speed why? More room for it to travel and exit ?

It's because the wind wraps around the A-pillar too smoothly, as a sheet, then breaks off and curls into vortices. These hit the B-pillar and then setup an acoustic feedback with the A-pillar, and you get the insane noise. If we could see the flow, it would look like a bunch of rollers traveling rearward from the A-pillar, then acoustic waves radiating between A and B pillars. I am sure there are good sketches on the internet.

It can happen on any size car, and cars with front+rear windows.

The simplest fix will be to disrupt/breakup/disorganize flow coming around the A-pillar so it can't form an organized pattern. If it's jumbled up, it can't form the organized flow structures. Randomness and turbulence disrupt the phenomena. Same deal with dimples on a golf ball.

If you roll down the window slightly not too much you can still enjoy the exhaust note AND the wind noise is more tolerable

Bump. Anyone try bootmod3 on a newer ecu?

Are these newer ecu’s still locked from the bootmod3 flash?

Thanks!

Bootmod does not work for the new ECUs without bench unlocking. MHD is THE only option to unlock via OBD right now for the newer lock ECU Supra.

EDIT: 10-24-19, Owner of bootmod, messaged me letting me know Bootmod supports the locked ROM Supra now as well via OBD2. No bench needed.

Curious what the gains would be on an e30 tune on MHD with catless dp over the titan protune on map 7 with 100 octane.

Do you have those figures?

no i do not. but a full flash is always better than a Piggyback, a many aspects. although iirc, E30 is not 100oct. its more like 95-96oct equivalent, but you get the cooling benefits of E.

Thank you. I will look into the MHD tune. What is the highest HP/TQ map tune you guys are getting with stock turbo? I have e85 available as well as ms109 so I could use either of those.

Thank you for your time!

I've done 507whp on our shop car. but decided to move on to the pure turbo before we put our big kit on.

Do you guys have OTS maps for the pure turbo upgrade? If so, that’s incredibly appealing esp. if it deals with the throttle closure issues in 6th.

If you guys do have OTS maps for the pure turbo upgrade, I think I may bite!

I dont really consider our maps "OTS". We make fully custom calibration tuning files. Not one and done.

We have "base" maps for everything built off our own shop cars which would be low power versions of a final revised custom map.

I've heard some people having issues with the 6th gear. I have an idea why. You have a log of what you're experiencing?

There is far more to tuning these cars than just cranking up the boost. Or at least trying too

Sure that’s understood. Could I do datalogs and email the file to you for tuning, or does the vehicle physically need to be on the dyno? Thank you for your help.

Edit: and no I don’t have issues with the throttle closure but there seem to be a lot of people experiencing that at higher boost pressures esp. with the pure turbo upgrade
