We can bench unlock the dme. Then you can flash away. No OBD2 unlock yet.

It's really easy to pull the ECU on this car, the 6 cables are right under the cover and the ECU slides streight out. I had my ECU unlocked and was able to flash the latest ROM version with Mhd.

i will be taking delivery of my new supra 2020 next week and I'm afraid that ECU is locked is there a way to know before buying a license ?

Need some help here.

I had a JB4, wasnt happy with it so i removed it and bought one of the f/g wireless flashers. I bought the super license, got everything loaded up and tried to flash the car. I had a similar experience that someone posted earlier about it failing to authenticate, this post helped me resolve that turned out i was it was because i was leaving the door open. Took the car out for a drive just to make sure everything was fine and the battery was good and charged.

After the drive i got home and decided to give it another go with the door closed, lights off, radio and climate controls off and bingo..flashed the stage 2 map with no issue. it completed, waited at least 30 seconds that the app displayed...try to start the car..nope.... "Start Engine only with no gear engaged" is displayed on the instrument cluster and the main display. The car is in park, with the parking break on. I tried to flash it back to stock, also successful, no luck, same message. Also tried disconnecting the battery for a several minutes in a frantic attempt to resolve the issue with no luck.

Not sure what to do here? I put the car on my trickle charger for the night just to see if that helps.... doesn't seem like that will help this though. I now have a 3 thousand pound brick sitting in my garage.

Can you email me the debugging files that are found in the MHD >>>>> Debugging folder?

Yes, i was in diagnostic mode for sure. Yes, there was coding done on the car with bimmercode.

Not sure how to get the dedug file you're asking for. Can you be a little more specific? I have a iphone.

Was able to get the car started again with help of Justin and MHD. I appreciate it guys.

I think I'm just going to let my local tuner handle from this point forward with a custom MHD tune. My flashing days are over.

What was wrong? if you don't mind sharing. I think it could be helpful to everyone, but especially tuning newbs like me.

I'm sure Justin@Twisted can explain it better but i will share what MHD sent me. So aside from being in airplane mode you need to also disable carplay from interfering with the coding process after the flash. I had to clear the DME codes to get going again.


from MHD:
"the flashing process is fine but the coding fails just after flashing.

I suspect this is because you have carplay and after rebooting the iDrive wifi takes over the MHD wifi. CAn you please remove your mobile devioce from carpplay?

Normally, if you read then delete codes, the DME should get recorded (avoiding the need to flash again). Can you try first to read codes (and please make a screenshot), then clear error codes (all in diagnose mode like for flashing : 3x engine start button pressed quickly)."
