That's good news. I called Eibach and they are sending me the sleeves as well. Can't wait to get rid of that noise.Me too! with that same noise. I end up ordering tein sleeves and now no more noise!
What size sleeves? Or part #Me too! with that same noise. I end up ordering tein sleeves and now no more noise!
Curious to hear if the sleeves work for you. I have H&R springs on mine with sleeves installed since day one, and I have had nothing but noise issues within 2 minutes of driving away from the shop. I have had the front suspension re-installed, the rears spent an entire day trying to diagnose and the problem is only WORSE. Absolutely nightmare. I think my case my be abnormal, but its truly a worst case scenario. My only available option is try try a different set of springs and blow another grand on trying that, or going back to stock and hoping that resolves the rattling.I installed H&R springs and I hear the rear chatter. Just called up H&R's toll free number and informed them of the situation and my make and model. They are sending me sleeves for free. They told me that they provide sleeves for other springs on different cars, but not for the Supras. Maybe if enough of us call them complaining about the lack of sleeves, they'll begin to offer them by default. I'll let you guys know how it goes once I get and install the sleeves. Here's their toll free number if you want to contact them: 1-888-827-8881
The less obvious thing to check is whether the factory shipping spacers are in the shocks still. You mentioned that you took it to a shop. You should ask them if they saw the spacers there or not. They look like these ones below. You can verify with just the front wheels off by pulling up the sleeve like the image below.Curious to hear if the sleeves work for you. Also through this nightmare I have uncovered literally dozens of areas within the cabin where plastic panels sit directly against plastic or metal. I have spent an absurd amount of time isolating and resolving these areas with friction tape, but still the suspension noises are there.
Thanks for the advice- I wasnāt there during the install but both shops are very reputable with doing various Supra track cars and street car installs but still worth me following up on regarding the shipping spacers. Question for you, would those be noticeable if they are still there in terms of the ride? Wouldnāt the car feel like its bottoming out all the time with those on?The less obvious thing to check is whether the factory shipping spacers are in the shocks still. Also, the top hat is really easy to damage if you don't know what your doing. If the sounds you hear are really bad and coming from the front, might be worth just removing the struts to see that the top hat isn't damaged.
I'm referring to the dust boot. See images below. #4 in the official Toyota diagram. There are bearings in the boot. I have seen videos where the top section of the bearings are damaged so the car makes sounds. If your shop is reputable, I'm sure they will be more than willing to help troubleshoot the sounds. Thanks for the advice- I wasnāt there during the install but both shops are very reputable with doing various Supra track cars and street car installs but still worth me following up on regarding the shipping spacers. In regards to the top hats, do you have any more specifics on what can be damaged? Are you referring to the strut bearing?
Confirmed The upper hat section (strut bearing) is all correct and confirmed no shipping spacers are on the struts yet the noises still remain. Any other ideas to try before going back to stock?I'm referring to the dust boot. See images below. #4 in the official Toyota diagram. There are bearings in the boot. Through my crazy witch hunt trying to figure out how to resolve the noises in my car, Iāve uncovered an absolutely astonishing amount of plastic on plastic rattle farms within the engine bay, interior C-pillar section, seats, dash, glove box, under panels of the dash in the footwell area, steering wheel column, gauge cluster, and sadly even more that I can not get to which are seemingly behind the dash near the fire wall.I have stock suspension, never lowered, never taken out the wheels besides tire change, but for some reason when I make a right curve or a tight right turn with enough g force, I can hear almost like a static/plastic/ticking noise coming from driver side, anyone have any idea why?
