Hey guys! I recently had my hands on a 2021 3.0 Review Unit, so I compared the stock exhaust sounds to my personal 2020. As you guys know the exhaust side of the B58 is revised in the new car so the noise is surprisingly different! Let me know which you prefer!

I think I prefer the 2021. The 2020 is maybe a little obnoxious haha

Sounds like US 2021 got the AU/JP/EU 2020 muffler. :p

I think it's the combination of the 6 port manifold rather than a 2 port combined with a less aggressive crackle tune in sport mode. I'm excited to hear what she sounds like with an aftermarket catback :D

I still prefer the 2020 exhaust note which is somewhat deeper and throatier in normal mode (not really a fan of sport mode burbles though)...The 2021 exhaust note sounds like an EU version exhaust and is kinda tame to me...

2021 sounds tame, but nothing that a DP/AWE exhaust can't fix. not a fan of the burples either

2020 exhaust sounds way nicer. I would hate dropping another $2k-$3k for an exhaust for just the sound... I rather it have the sound I want already from factory...

Wonder if you can use bm3 or whatever to make the pop/crackle exhaust noise onto the 2021..

Oh wow, big difference. I love how my 2020 sounds stock and even better with the high flow single cat downpipe. I keep reminding myself that spending $2.5K on an aftermarket exhaust just isn't going to be worth the difference (as a US market Supra) after I installed a DP. That said, if I owned a 2021 that same argument would be a lot tougher to make. I suppose it is nice to know there is at least one good thing about the 2020 vs. 2021.

2021 sounds like what my ME spec sounded stock

Looks like it has the same EU/ME muffler

Z4 sounds like the 2020 with the burbles

I actually like the 2021 over the 2020 model, not a fan of the pops, farts and crackles.
Yo Guff, when will the embargo be lifted?

May 13th. I'll hopefully have the 2.0 and 3.0 content out on that day!

Btw, I think the exhaust systems are exactly the same. Overall volume is pretty much the same, I think the lack of pops is really the main difference and that's solely a tune thing.

This is exactly what happened with BMW X3M40i.
2019 models had 355hp but had great exhaust notes.
2020 models got same hp bump as 2021 Supra to 382hp but lost all the pops and burble and people on x3 bimmerpost forum had same debate that we did here.
Of course some people were pissed on that forum similar to some people here on this forum when 2021 Supra was announced that BMW bumped HP without any real facelift on the car because a lot of people didn't know or wasn't sure about the power bump on 2020 X3M40i and got 2019.
