Just curious - if custom tune can resolve this, has the issue between OTS and MT cars been relayed back to MHD/Pureboost? Maybe it’s just wishful thinking but I’d think/hope they’d either put some disclaimer that OTS maps are AT only, and/or that Pureboost would be capable of tweaking the OTS maps to eliminate the boost spikes during shifting specific for the MT cars.

I know custom is always better, but it seemed here that people respected the MHD OTS maps so that was a selling point for me short-term (saving the custom tune $$$ for when upgrading turbo next).
Yes I have been in contact with them, and they just told me us to NLS lol. (No lift shift)

haha of course…

I can see that if always driving 10/10ths but is it still an issue driving 6 or 7/10ths? Sounds lazy to me on their part - I guess custom tune it is. But adding up the costs for a respected custom tuner looks well over $1000…I suppose worth it if risk is damaging the motor. I see at least some offer discounted revisions when adding parts so not terrible I guess when looking at it that way!

I mean, I have been on OTS for a couple months now and I just had it do this limp mode once last weekend. Generally it has been fine and smooth, but the shift behavior needs work. I think the issue is mostly a high-load scenario only.

$1000 for a tune? What?
I’m just referencing the posted rates for typical tune from the more well-known tuners…Shoup, Wedge, etc. I know cheaper ones out there but I need to research more and get recommendations…tunes don’t seem to be the type of thing I’d wanna to save a buck on, considering potential for high consequence lol

For reference, Shoup’s latest posted rate is $800 for stock turbo base tune, add $350 for an ethanol tune/map, and can’t remember but $300-$500 to revise previous map for new parts (like turbo upgrade).

On one hand, paying for people’s time and experience is the right thing to do if you get what you pay for. On the other hand, it just puts me in a position like this where I get by on OTS until I’m in the best position to get tuned (car has most the parts I want installed, etc).

Dave S said on his updated pricing post, he had to jack up the price to limit the demand a bit so he could maintain one-on-one service. If that’s true, I respect and understand that. Whether or not I can afford it is another matter🤣

Been on the OTS map for 18 months now with flex tune since summer and no issues. 14 track days as well. Is it perfect no, especially between shifts like you mention, but never any limp mode or codes thrown.

No issues with hard 1st-2nd shifts during a launch?

Yeah i was pretty shocked to see knock on the shift since steady state pulls ie. Single gear have excellent timing.

Ultimately MHD needs to drop "blow off WGDC" to near zero for all MT roms on their OTS regardless. Not sure if that will fix this knock issue but it'd improve drivability.

Not sure, don't do hard launches since 1st is pretty worthless. Only did a few when I first unlocked it.

1 to 2 shifts are shit in this car, period. Was this happening before you had MHD and do you have rev matching turned on?? I've been running the OTS Stage 2 tune for about 12 months and haven't had any issues with it whatsoever.. but I tend not to kick the car's ass as much as most, I guess. And I haven't had a chance to take any logs yet so can't comment on that aspect.
