Hey everyone! I received my set of motorsports door releases from 777 Performance today and figured I'd share.

These door releases are 3d printed in a nylon/carbon fiber material with a nylon strap both of which are fire retardant. All hardware was included and packaged exceptionally well. The install really wasn't difficult. A few bolts, take the door card off, drill a couple plastic welds, and pop in the new door latch followed by connecting the cable. The hardest part was just getting all the clips engaged when putting the door card back!

Overall, the fit and finish is quite good, especially for a 3d printed part. There are multiple colors to choose from and the yellow is a very close match. Door pull effort is minimal and very similar to the OEM handle.

Was this a necessary mod? No, but it's damn cool 😅

Also, keep an eye on 777 Performance! They've got some awesome products in the pipeline for the a90 chassis!

Thanks Matt!

Looks like it would hard to grab with gloves.

Eh I'd argue it would be easier than trying to get 2 fingers in the latch with gloves on but to each their own!

in before @Carl - Driveway Labs comes in, says they "stole his idea" and talks mega $hit on them.
The owner of 777 Performance actually demoed these over a year ago on Facebook/IG, first production batches just started shipping now though.

Not a Corvette.

I know. It's just a thing Mr. Arts & Crafts does. I guess Porsche copied him too.

Earlier in the thread I mentioned an install video would follow. They just released it today:

Although I have no intention of using either on mine... I would have to say that Carl's look nicer and would be a bit more functional (i.e. gloves, outside pull, etc.). Which they should for a $100 premium over these.

Honestly, I'll worry about replacing the door handles only if I've already replaced every body panel with CF, glass with Lexan, and removed 90% of the interior... so never. However, more choices are never a bad thing IMO.

Yup, more options the better!
