It’s because people feel safer in them, it’s as simple as that. My wife drives a GLC. Prefers the height, the visibility and knowing that her head won’t get taken off if she t-bones a trailer.
Nissan reps and dealers have talked about launching in June. Most people think the review embargo will be lifted and final pricing/specs will be announced by April though
I just joined because Im looking to pick up a Supra and this is the fourth thread Ive checked out regarding the new Z and dude you have an unhealthy hard on for shitting on Nissan, it was funny at first but after like the 17th post on the fourth different thread........
This is partially true, currently you can push the stock 7sp Jatco much farther than the stock ZF8 in the Supra. There are a good amount of 650whp+ cars being beat on reliably with stock trans/motor. The old 7sp were made of glass and you couldn't push more than 450whp
To be fair, this is the Supra forum. Most people here have made their decision and maybe they don't like the Nissan. But for some reason, there are people who come to this forum under the pretense of saying they are interested in the Supra only to crap on it and say how the new Z is the greatest gift the car-gods have ever begat unto us.
That is the most proposterous statement I have heard about the VR30 yet. I have one of the earliest build cars/engines and I have had ZERO issues and I am at 60k miles, tuned for 20-30k. Still on stock belts, stock turbos etc.

We get flak for being a bmw, not a real supra, being a Z4, being a car with an identity crisis, the new Z is the "supra killer", yada yada yada, etc, you get the point. it gets pretty old. I didn't defend the Z once, just corrected info about the powertrain. I am clearly here because the Z is hideous and I prefer to purchase the Supra, if you do not wish to have a technical discussion about the points I corrected then why bother?
In reality it does, just depends on the dyno and conditions. 90% of redsports dyno in between 370-390whp. I linked one of many posts of stock dynos, this one in particular was AWD on a mustang dyno at 5k elevation. The same car on a Dynojet at sea level will push closer to 400whp, RWD is shown to be even 5-7whp higher
