I had been thinking about buying another Corvette. I’ve had a few and sold my Z06 a few years ago. Don’t like the new C8’s with no MT so they were out. Thought about a Porsche but just couldn’t pull the trigger. 6 months ago we were at a Toyota dealership getting my wife a new Tacoma. They had a yellow 2.0 AT in the showroom. I sat in it and liked the car. Told the GM you ever get a 2023 MT in here give me a call. I pick up my Absolute Zero 3.0 Premium next month. Never owned a BMW and the wife’s truck is the first Toyota.

The shifter has a great feel to it. There’s very little play in it. Clutch take-up is very linear and makes it easy to drive. The rev matching is awesome but I have to stop myself from blipping the throttle. I don’t see a need to disable it.

I’m going to address the elephant in the room. The MKIV Supra is living off nostalgia. Until you drive both you can’t understand that the MKV is the better car. Technology, comfort and build quality are light years apart. Hence why it takes 300hp more for a MKIV to run the same 1/4 mile… turbo lag, old tech. Before buying the MKV I was considering a MKIV, after a driving several of both the MKV was the only choice. The MKIV was a great car that sold terribly in the 90s. Now the people that couldn’t afford them then can now and want to live that piece they missed out on which is driving demand for a car Toyota even discounted 1/3 of the price on at the end of its life cycle and still couldn’t sell them. Is it a legend, of course. I’m sure the MKV will be the same way in 25 years as well. Those that missed out on them today will want them tomorrow when they rewind time and realize just how great the car they decided to dislike was really a legend of its time.
Couldn't make a better statement so true cause I was young loving the mkiv, got older priorities had other plans. Now that I could afford 1 why go bk over 20 years when I can have the supra of new. The motor is proven the platform is performing and the peak potential hasn't been reached yet. The mkiv is a collectible you won't barely find a untouched one nowadays. Have the opportunity to have a collectible now and watch how it ages.

Previous Supra and BMW owner. My first car was a midnight blue 89 Supra, manual (non-turbo). I loved that car. I had the typical dual 12" speakers with a cheap amp and shoddy install for a 17 yr old, everything rattled... The only mod I competed was intake from what I remember. I couldn't really afford anything because the auto insurance took all of my paycheck. I ended up passing it to my sister when I left the house and haven't owned a sports car sense. This past Aug I hit 40 on the human odometer and retired from military service. So I sold my X5, and finally returned to the supra. There has been some adjustment with driving the supra as I have only owned SUVs for the past 15 yrs or so but I have no regrets. If I have to grab one of the kids from school the fist thing they ask when getting in is if we can go fast!

I’ve wanted a ‘vette and a 911 since grade school, but was always too practical to do anything about it. I’ve had a GTI, GLI, WRX, Speed3, and Focus ST because they were fun and practical. By r the time I decided to get less practical, they stopped making a manual ‘vette and I realized that I wouldn’t be comfortable driving a Porsche (I know I shouldn’t care about image. but that’s just me.). Enter the ‘23 Supra manual. It’s a perfect fit. After all, it’s “only” a Toyota.

I know what you mean about the Porsche. Had a 911 for about 18 months - great car but always felt a bit uncomfortable in terms of the type of attention it got (and the repair costs). Now I just have a Toyota. :)

I bought my first Supra new in 1994., a black 6 speed hardtop. I later sold it to my partner who still has it. It is pristine with 60,000 miles. I can drive it whenever I want, which isn't very often. When comparing it to my 2020 there is no question it was built in the previous century. I don't miss it at all.

Owned many BMWs in the past. Loved them all. Found out there was a marriage with the Z4 platform with tracking intention from Akio Toyoda himself  Need I say more….

I still think this overlay decal covers both manufactures (bmw ghosted image) …
kinda funny and only noted at certain angles.
