My first intention was to wait until the VTT black kit came available and write a review on it. However it was on a pretty big B/O. So I decided to get this moving. I purchased an hks flange, hks ssqv, vtt boost reference kit and went to work. Here are some pics. After the flange was welded I am test fitting to make sure everything clears and works properly before final powder coat.

Cost so far:
Hks bov - $225
Flange -$20
VTT boost ref kit - $50
Welder- $75

I had to get back to work, I will finish putting the vacuum hose on and fishing the throttle body bolt that fell down into the abyss. Will post more later.

All is completed and works just like a bov should. Now I will take it apart and send to powder coat.

The bottom right insert in the hood cover will not go all the way down due moving the vacuum port back. I can notch the cover or use a different reference source.

I can tell you with certainty that you WILL NOT find a new boost tap like the one you linked a photo of. Trust me

It provides a vacuum port for the bov.

I have seen quite a few in stock with out the hose.

Sound clips? I mean, I know what an SSQV sounds like, but it would be cool to hear combined with other b58 noises.

Iā€™m well aware of the bov, dv, no bov/dv discussion, but can anyone enlighten me and tell me what concerns there would be doing something like this? Other than introducing other points of failure?

It literally sounds just like the link posted below. That is why i did not add a sound clip. Plus i am still waiting for the shop to fit me in to do my exhaust. Then i will add a sound clip.

many dont know this. but B58 has hardly any vacuum in the manifold due to how the Valvetronic works. does the BOV work setup like that> yes because the boost simply opens the BOV port. but there is a specific way to install a BOV/BPV on these engines to get vacuum.

I believe i have a vacuum tester somewhere to test this. I think somewhere around -19 is standard i believe. Could be wrong. The main thing is just to make sure the valve stays shut during idle so no leak is accruing. In which if the engine does not produce enough vacuum that will not be an issue at all. Don't these have vacuum pumps. Probably could tap into the pump lines that if your heart desires.
