Curious if any one runs the pmu 999s on their daily? I have a set now but wasn’t going to put them on until around feb/mar and wasn’t sure if I should swap out current ones. I have the club racer on now and not what I’d call noisy but I don’t drive it daily. I noticed the operating temp range is lower on the 999 so seems like they my be better.

also. Would it better to leave the cr on the rear when I do swap the front? I just went to group 3 and even then had a few drivers say I could go to Grp 4 but not interested in that right now.
I would say the 999s drive better than the club racers. Less noise at least. Probably more dust though. I leave mine on year round but dont drive my car that much.

I left the P mu 999s on all year and they were just fine. I’m on a race pad now getting ready to take the Z06 on track next weekend. Same thing. No issues driving around town and then to track.

Curious if anyone has tried the lower bite N+ or HC+ from PMU? My Pagid RSL29's have another few track days left in them, but I figured I'd try some new sets. I tend to like pads with lower initial bite but still able to hit ABS on 200tw tires if I mean it. Looking through the catelog those two appear to be the ones that are closest to the Pagid setup I have now. I would have tried the PMU 777's or HC M1's but they both aren't made for the Supra anymore.

I was thinking about buying a set of the 999's as well just to see what I thought since they're pretty cheap in comparison to some others.
Would not recommend at all.
I've used the PMU HC-CS and they are "supposedly" similar to HC+ in heat tolerance, but offering lower initial bite.

Wore through them like a set of OEM pads.

Im using Pagid RSL29's on my backup car, and I love those pads. The cost does suck though, but have not ran into issues with them besides being loud on the street.

Good to know and thanks for the real world feedback.

I've used the RSL29's on several other cars including a Cayman GTS and always felt they were pretty spot on. Prior to that I've had experience with Hawk, Carbotech, GLoc, Ferodo, and Raybestos, but the RSL keeps me coming back. They can squeal a bit on the street, but since I work from home it's tolerable for the 3-4 trips a week I make.

I ended up buying a set of the PMU 999's to try. My last track day at VIR I had some issues braking into T1 that seemed odd so I rebled the brakes and figured I'd try a slightly more aggressive pad just to see what happens. Next track day is in March, and I also sent the ECU to AT for an unlock so I should have a few extra ponies to play with as well. Would love to crack the 2:00 barrier this time, but will likely be around 2:02ish.

My backup car is an E90 335i (which is slightly heavier than Supra), and I did the Brembo retrofit from F8X M car to open up endless brake pad choices.
I've ran Hawk DTC 60 (love feel, super cheap, excellent performance, but hell on paint and noisy).
I'm using my E90 as my winter beater for time being, and running Ferodo DS2500's, and to me, they feel like Hawk HP+, but with much better cold bite but without the awful noise and dust from the HP+. Havent used the DS2500's on track since I have the Pagids for that.

I'm currently using the PMU Club Racers, but now since the prices went up, this season will be using PMU 999's as well. One thing I really also hate about the CR's (not sure if it will be the same with the 999's) is cold bite.
The CR's were absolutely garbage cold.
The DS2500s and RSL29 offer wayyyy better cold bite (albeit, probably at cost of rotor wear), but still.

I've ran the HP+ and DS2500. I think the DS2500 is between the HP+ and HPS 5.0 line, and none of those are good on track with power/heavy cars either. My first ever track pads were HP+ and while I was a noob, I was quickly finding the limits of the HP+ on track at Mid-Ohio in a 2,800 lbs 300 whp car.

Surprisingly I liked the DTC60's more than the DTC30's. But I only ever used them on an endurance car where the paint wasn't a concern lol.

The RSL29 always needed one or two hard stops (depending on ambient temps) to really come into their own for me. I'm hoping the 999's are similar.

I currently use the 60's on my Supra and they have surprisingly been the most quiet track pad I have used on the Supra. In fact, most of the pads I have used haven't been nuts as far as noise.

They do dust like a SOB. They haven't messed up my paint but I do make sure to clean the car and not let the dust sit after getting wet, which you shouldn't be doing with any track pad, to be honest.

That said, I came from a track car that told everyone within a 10 mile radius that I was using the brakes:

Anyone run 999's on the street? I track twice a month, kinda lazy to swap everytime. Might just leave the rears and swap the fronts if anything.

I’ve left them on for over a month now and they’re quiet for the most part. More quiet than the Pagid’s were. If they stay this quiet I might not need to go back to the stock pads this winter.

they are fine for street driving. Just give them a min to warm up. You can tell when they are cold still.

Were the ds2500s provided in brembo big brake kits? I remember using the supplied pads of brembo kit for some light track duty and they were suprising great on street and held up at Tremblant mid summer intense heat after a set of Pagid yellows were finished.

I’d like a pad 30% more capable than the stock oem pads - though they’ve been surprisingly good for spirited driving! Not sure who makes the supra oem pad.

There are anecdotes about several OEM's using pads that were very similar to the DS2500, and lots of stories about people able to use OEM pads to get through a session or two as well.

As mentioned, Brembo makes the OEM Supra pad. They've had some pretty good compounds lately since I know the C8 also runs Brembo pads from the factory, and those work fine on track.

First track day of the year with my 999s.
I have the exact same problem of shuddering that I had with the club Racers. It's my oe rotors and I suspect they me be warped... The feeling is totally fine when cold but starts to shake badly when heating up.
Not sure the bedding is the problem here... I did complete 6x 20min sessions trying to get hard on them (several 215 kmh braking zones) and it did not get better.
Any opinions on this? Should I go for other rotors, 2 piece rotors?
