Also does anyone know for sure if the BMW Z4 Oil Pump 11419895359 is the exact same? It's less than half the price than from Toyota here in UK
So this is pretty hilarious but I got quoted £1350 from Toyota for the Oil Pump (pn 15100-WAA03). So I called BMW and asked the price on their Oil Pump (pn 11419895359) and they quoted me £419.

That's less than a third of the price!

I went through this whole song and dance with my 2020 MY in Canada. The oil pump is most likely the culprit and I highly doubt your car has the updated pump from factory. If you are under warranty you should get this sorted out with them. As my car was producing oil pressure related issues. Just make sure the Dealer has all their eggs in one basket ie sub frame bolts as they are torque to yield (one time use) and the pump of course and all related parts.

As I said I'm tuned so my warranty won't be useable. My main concern is paying out all this money to find I have the upgraded part already. US and EU cars aren't the same so it's a possibility that we have the upgraded part over here as it was already in use on the Z4's over here in 2019/20.

What I may end up doing is just keeping an eye out on my oil pressure as it's fine at the moment and I have no errors. If I eventually do get strange readings then I'll probably pull the trigger and buy the BMW part and get it fitted at an independant garage out of my own pocket.

From what I've seen it appears to be pretty universal that the Supra ended up with the plastic adjusting ring for a whole model a year and a half later than the BMWs did.

I'm trying to figure out when it the transition happened based on build date. I'm collecting data, so when you get an answer to your car, please let me know. Mine is 07/20.

Generally, it doesn't matter what information you bring to the dealership, there is a test that you have to perform in Toyota ISTA that issues a pass/fail outcome which determines whether or not you're eligible for the warranty.

In the video that I made that another user shared, I have the full parts list that it took to do this job. It's a lot more than just the oil pump. There's also about $400 in one time use fasteners ?‍?

The video was very good, I am worried about my pump too and am holding off on doing anything until this issue gets addressed. Some have the issue around 10k, ive heard even 30k miles as well.

Suck that it has to be like this but I'd rather be safe than sorry, not risking the warranty I had to pay extra for when I bought the car.

Just for more data points, there have been 2021 Supras with the issue as well.

EDIT: I forgot yours is also a 21. ;)

That is funny because normally BMW parts would be far more expensive than Toyota parts! I guess Toyota needs to buy the part from BMW and then slap it in a Toyota box, give it a new part number and then apply a nice mark-up. Toyota is literally the middle man here. ?‍♂

There have been people in the forums who had the oil pump warrantied even with a tune. Wouldn't hurt to check. The dealership did diagnostics on my car and it produced the oil pressure issue intermittently. Best of luck.

The problem is I don't want to bring my car in and then Toyota cancel my finance due to the car being modified.

They can do that in the UK? Damn.
They don't do that in the US?

Pretty sure most car companies can terminate your finance agreement if they find out you have modified the car when it doesn't yet belong to you officially until the term is fully paid.

In the United States you can get third party financing (like Chase, Bank of America, etc) and not financing through the manufacturer, and most people do that.

So if using third party financing, there is no connection between dealer service and the finance company. Honestly, there probably isn't much connection between dealer service and manufacturer financing either.

Yea sorry I should have said my finance is with Toyota finance services as it's the cheapest rate in the UK.

How would that work?

They find out you modified it and then ask you to pay back the loan immediately and if you can't/wont they attempt to repossess the car?
