If you are looking for a deep exhaust, buy an HKS universal single muffler and have a quality fab shop fabricate a custom exhaust. I just went this route and it sounds like nothing else on the market. Very deep and has more of that Japanese jdm sound. Sounds almost like an RB25/26. It’s ridiculously good. Here is a short clip from another guy that has this setup.

It’s huge under the car but require very minimal trimming of bumper.

I wish awe retained the valve
You don't though, that's the thing. Have you heard it in person?? The only gripe is a rowdy cold start and its big, so it hangs a bit low. Cruising and around town its silent inside, its eerie

Not in person, just in video. I will admit it's prob my fav sounding exhaust but the no valve kinda ruins it for me. I'm planning on hks instead. Who knows I may change my mind. Just waiting for black friday

Again. Why do you want the valve?

turn off/on for loudness
again, you need to hear it in person. Something like HKS needs the valve as its just muffling the noise and is sort of deep, low, loudness. AWE has a specific resonator to cancel frequencies of noise, its alarming how quiet it can be at low RPMs and with light throttle. Want more noise? bump up the RPM and throttle a bit. A valve is NOT needed with this system.

I would add that if this is going to be your daily, depending on your preference, you may want to add a resonator. There is some level of drone at different rpm’s. I personally think it’s manageable but I also only drive this car on the weekends for the most part. I don’t spend much time in stop and go traffic.

Unfortunately, HKS universal mufflers don't go larger than 3 inch inlet, which is smaller than the downpipe restriction.

HKS DOES make larger inlet mufflers, but they are only sold with full exhausts and not "a la carte". For a long time, dsm/evo/3000gt guys were buying MKIV Carbon-ti exhausts (3.75" piping and muffler inlet) and chopping off the muffler and scrapping the rest.

Warm start in sport:
I see you customized yours with vibrant ultra quiet resonator, does that affect your performance? because I heard some people with resonators said it affects the performance but not noticeable that much.
and how many inches is your exhaust pipes?

i'm assuming you'd also suggest the resonated vs non-resonated? how is it with the aa downpipe?

Car is my daily and I don't notice any performance difference on the street. Exhaust is 3in.

Are cold starts as quiet as stock or louder?
