Do you find the paddle shifters awkward?

I'm finding manual mode and mixed auto-manual a bit difficult to manage. It seemed much more natural to manual shift and heel-toe rev match. This auto feels error prone to me.

For feel, you're going to get the best experience using Manual Only in Sport mode.
Also, you don't have to downshift every time you're coming to a stop, the car will do it for you even in manual mode.

I avoid using the pedal shifters in auto since it reverts back a bit quick.

Fine for me. I generally go manual while in sport mode, and auto when just cruising around in normal mode.

I donā€™t like them even though they do look cool behind the steering wheel.

Reason 1: they move with the steering wheel, I find myself too long in a gear because I canā€™t shift while turning.

Reason 2: I dont get the same growl from exhaust between shifts as I do in auto.

I find that too. I guess I'll try to find the middle.

I don't find it awkward, but I do wish they were fully metal like the Porsche. Will likely change those out at some point.

Reason 1 is why I don't do the manual shifting all too often. Since I'm not in a traditional manual car, I'm fine with just letting the automatic transmission do its work.

Compared to manual yes.
You see manual and stick is instinctive.
Paddle you need to look at whether it's + or -
And using gear shift feels weird again with weird + and -

Paddles work great. If you need to shift while turning just pull the shift lever towards you in the center console. Just like a sequential gearbox. If you drive in normal mode just leave it on auto. I'm in sport 100% of the time and manual 95% of the time.

I'll add a Reason 3: I'm finding this ZF gearbox knows better what gear I should be in than I do, making me faster than when in manual mode.

Iā€™m impressed by the ZF transmission the more I drive it. The downshifts are always perfectly timed.

I've been driving cars with paddle shifters for some 17 years now. My first car with paddles was an Alfa Romeo 147 and it was like a dream come true. I felt like a Formula1 driver lol. Since then, all my cars have come with paddles
Nowadays I only switch to manual when I wanna have some fun....most of the time I would use the paddles but occasionally also the stick, otherwise for the typical commute I stay in auto.
