Car has been naughty and needs that track spanking, checking with my group for an upcoming event Jan 15 / 16! Wish me luck, I'm concerned as I've gone off track a few times in my BRZ and everything Supra is much more expensive. I'll probably do sim time as well to hone basic countersteer
Definitely do it!!!! My wife drove her like a baby on her track day. She was quick, consistent, and not even two tires off. It can easily be done. I’ve been 4 off only once (so far ?) and two off a lot more than that. It’s all me and not the car 4sho. But I’m really getting a feel for her and totally digging how much fun this car is ?.

I like this game. My turn

My Supra has the trunk release flopping around all the time
Cracked windshield spanning across completely, horizontally
Cruise control broke af
Backup camera broke af
Can’t turn off lane departure warning
Apple carplay disconnects every once in a while
Boost gauges shut off randomly
Screen turns off if the cabin temp gets too hot
Flex fuel ethanol gauge sometimes bounces around (might be bad fuel)
Door wrap bubbles due to rain water

Edit: radio cuts in and out every handful of seconds

DAMN!!! What have you done to your poor car!?!?

But in seriousness, "flex fuel ethanol gauge", do stock Supras have those?

Correct me if I am wrong but most of the "broken" items (cruise, backup camera, lane departure, screen, radio) on your list are Toyota parts not BMW. This doesn't sound very Toyota-like.

Another two plus year old dead thread bumped.
Well I'm the OP and I can revive it since my last supra was totaled and I bought a new one a month ago!

1. Whining from the car when it's braking. This is gone, or its 10% of the volume as the last car, the other night I MIGHT have heard it while idling at a light (stock exhaust still on the replacement car). I'm hoping I'm just TRYING to hear it, but for real it's a night and day from the last car.

2. Speaker vibration, soooo bad in this car both sides there's a panel, and it's not just the speaker, it's rougher roads as well. I seriously need to have a passenger start applying pressure to the panels to see if we can find which it is then maybe I'll do a rattle fix myself because dealerships don't take them seriously even when they can be reproduced.

3. Haven't checked this, but never proved to be an issue

4. The seat heaters work in this car lmao

5. Haven't had this issue, but for note a friend has a 22 and had it worse than my first car.

6. This isn't an issue but rather a natural harmonic rhythm of the motor and it's fineeee

AND NOW THE NEW CAR GOT HIT 2 DAYS AGO ???

So that's an issue....

They also hit the wheel a bit.

Noooooooooooooooooo……. WTF dude!!!!!!!! You need to park out in the middle of nowhere man’s land - BFE. And throw in some safety cones in the trunk to put around her. Damnnnnnnnn, sorry to hear ?

My CarPlay was doing great for almost a year. Now Iā€˜m back to trouble shooting & trying to disconnect & reconnect it. I added the Garmin Catalyst to my list of Bluetooth devices so I could hear the ā€œcoachā€ while driving on track with the car speakers. It worked! But who knows if that’s what pissed it off & stop ā€œCarPlayingā€ with my phone. It was more likely something I did. But still…. I gotta mess with it my next day off.

The strengths/benefits greatly outweigh the downsides on this car. But that’s one I wish worked a little bit easier/better. And throw in a dipstick for the oil ?

I’ve been lucky for 3 years. Only real issue I had was the trans pan starting to seep (which is fairly common even on new ones). I decided to relace with the M3/M4 metal trans pan and everything else all good.

Both incidents were while moving haha. White car in my PFP was rear ended around 40-60mph, traffic slowed to a near stop due to construction, someone didn't see until the last minute and plowed into my rear left wheel which then broke suspension components, bent the subframe, and bent the rail (unibody / frame) which totaled the car out (or my body shop is super incompetent, its a weird story that I don't know 100% what happened yet).

This new one was a 10 min drive home from dinner, driver just straight merges into me like I'm not even there, but it was a very slow merge / bump.

Agree with you though, and this is why I have dashcams AND parking mode. I'm wrapping the new black car a green color so it should act as it's own safety cone.

Ugh yes the dipstick, I think my previous car's measuring system was partially broken, It'd never give me an oil reading, but it always alerted at the 1qt low mark.

The camera system broke because I have laser jammers installed I believe.

stock supras do not have an ethanol reader. You can get the fuelit kit for access on your phone or you need the visconti flex kit and a custom tune

With these issues would you choose to buy a Supra again? Are the issues headache inducing or more of an annoyance?

Issue 1 is 99% resolved with a different Supra
Issue 2 is still present but I think most people have some rattle especially near the harness bar, it's good enough for me so far
Issue 3 turns out wasn't an issue but normal
Issue 4 was car specific
Issue 5 doesn't happen to the new car, but if it did toyota can fix it
Issue 6 is just the motors natural resonance, my ignorance

So in conclusion of 6 issues, 2 weren't issues, 3 were car specific, and the 1 actual issue was resolved with a new Supra :)

Everything is an annoyance, but I'm a nitpicky person so I notice everything

Some people on here have two of them. My wallet is the only reason Iā€˜m not one of them. And the ease of locating one not over $10k. That’s more of a headache. But I could easily see me buying a 2nd one. This car is worth the money and easy to maintain & fix. As is or a few minor upgrades, would be all I’d do.

I can’t think of more I’d want in a sports car (at this price point). You’d need to get into GT3 RS territory or Corvette Z06. And I’d never get over that square wheel and how many of them are out there (on the latter). So yeah…. a 2nd Supra would be quite nice ? ?

Oof yeah, if I could justify it, I would keep my current one for track (absolutely strip it out) and get a manual for a weekend cruiser.
