Time for a nice battery replacement. Can shave good weight in the rear. The install was easy, done in 50 mins because I had to take it back off and put the gasket on, I didnāt notice it dropped off. I figured out the battery was dead before I started, the window didnāt roll down when I opened the door to pop the hood. Frustratingā¦
So today I installed my downpipe intake and charge pipe. It was a pain in my A@#, Until I found a couple of little tricks I didn't know. To take the clips off you have to pop the tab out then push it down a little then it'll slide ride out. I wish I paid someone else to do this, But if you want the best work do it yourself. My advice to you would be 1. get a new DP gasket 2. Buy a new ventilation hose line 3. Use a proper lift like me 4. Take the exhaust off to remove downpipe 5. Try your best to stay calm after you burn your hands 9999 times. I work as an assistant European car specialist mainly Porsche and I'm a dumb 16-year-old soooooo what do I know?Iām getting my downpipe tomorrow and I donāt know if I should garage install it or have someone do it. So my question is: for the guys whoāve installed their own downpipes, Was it easy for you or do you wish you wouldāve taken it to a shop?
cheers!!

Glad you got it goin. But yeah, all bimmers are like that. Low battery causes all sorts of shit. Should clear right up when you get some decent charge in it.For anyone following this, I got my car started. I donāt know why the battery drained but I have a charger on it meow. I drove it around the block, got all kinds of codes, rear diff, steering, traction etcā¦so I guess if the battery dies on these cars itās a big deal? On the bright side, it sounds good, lol. Iāll have the boys in the shop clear the codes tomorrow and hopefully itāll be ready for a custom tune
No offense meant but idk how this got so complicated for you. There is ZERO reason you should have had to remove the entire exhaust. Also just because Iām curious how do you afford this car at 16 years old? When I was 16 I had an old pos, I think that makes you the youngest owner which I thought was @MasonSo today I installed my downpipe intake and charge pipe. Plenty of guides and videos out there.Iām getting my downpipe tomorrow and I donāt know if I should garage install it or have someone do it.
