Good news! I noticed Pure Turbos now has an ETA of mid- 2025 on the 2 port versions of the pure 900 and new variant of the pure 800 and 650.

That means about two weeks right guys?
Theres 1, 2-port guy to 5, 6-port guys ?

i noticed they also discontinued the pure850 option? i've never seen a huge difference between the 800 and 850 anyways

Yeah you're right. Makes sense i guess given the price on the 900. I'm assuming the original 800 is gonna be phased out once they have both 6 and 2 port available for the new version.

This is correct. Any new updates or releases always take - give or take - two weeks. Never before and rarely afterwards and seldomly on time.

The way I see it is that there's a good chance Pure wants to move away from modifying fully stock turbos and go all-in on their aftermarket housings. It'd be a lot cheaper to only need to make two of them instead of three or more when you only really need the 800 and 900.

The new housing 800s make more then the older 850s did anyway. Breathing room good.

What’s a good turbo upgrade for 600-700whp that spools somewhat quick (like stock). Was looking into the new pure 800.

Just realize this thread never mention at which point we would need an aftermarket axel, it would be great if it can be added to original post.

Pure650 if you want closer to stock spool. Pure800 def does not spool like stock but still responsive for it's power capability.

I’m planning on going DI route, I feel like if I go pure650 I’m always going to feel like I shoulda gone 800 lmao. Gonna get the combo pack (s58 + hpfp) from dorch and the pure800. That should satisfy me while trying to save for a zr1 lmao

That is my current setup. Pure 800 + Dorch HPFP + S58 injectors + E40. I pull on C8 Z06's on track.

It's also enough to have your trans start slipping.

I had a Pure 700 before the 800. Basically very close to their new Pure 650. The 800 had noticable spool difference compared to 700. However, I don't really notice it on track.

How did you know your trans was slipping? Mine hesitates when pulling out of reverse and going into 1st gear. Mainly after sitting in the garage, less warmed up. And I’m fully stopped when putting her into drive. Just seems like she has trouble catching, then you feel it finally grab and go ?
