How to Launch the MT

[Arguably "wrong" section? In my mind this is a genuine question about the B58 engine and transmission and optimal setup for top performance/launch - but hey torch me alive for wrong forum section if your panties are in a twist!)

Hey guys, I pamper my Supra a lot, but since I got it, I knew that one day I have to try and launch it eventually.

It's got 2k miles now and first few swirls and chips, honeymoon period almost over so think I'm ready to try it lol

It's not something I ever did much in any car, so looking to get advice from anyone that has messed about with their MT launch and especially how NOT to do it to avoid making any excessive damage/wear to clutch plate/axle/engine etc.

Info:
Car is 100% stock.
Suspension: is it better softer in comfort, or sport mode stiffness?

Revs: what revs would you recommend for a clean launch (so no burnout/spin ideally)
I'm thinking like somewhere just a little over 2k???

Clutch: fully let go at once or gradual?

My favorite thing in tail happy MT FRS was to go sideways whenever possible ?

In the manual it says keep it under 4k rpm. It is hard to keep the car on leash, I try my best ??

I'd avoid too much blending in of the clutch, just feed it in quickly and smoothly, moderate any traction issues with the throttle not the clutch.

I haven't abused mine at all yet, but from what I've seen of other people it puts it down well with no axle tramp etc.

TC off
Clutch in
Shift to 1st
Rev to 2-4k depending on your comfort
When you’re ready, swift release of the clutch while giving more throttle

Practice/modify the last two until you don’t bog nor spin.

Outside of the general steps, it’s a game of feeling and super rewarding when you get it right.

Don’t beat yourself up for not getting it immediately or consistently. Lots of casual racers lose at the strip to slower cars due to botched launches.

Be careful with TC off though since you're new to it. Do it in a wide open area with runoff space and no other cars around. Don't want to be one of those people that ends up on youtube due to your attempted launch, subsequent loss of control due to lack of traction and resulting crash into a barrier or onto a curb, etc. because traction control was off and you weren't used to the power of the car and its behavior with TC off.
