Thankfully no, but I live rural, so unless I'm in a clapped-out VT commodore or BA Falcon - they don't even look twice at the Supras.

Even when I drive this around town, they don't bother me haha.

Nice, Nice. How much are you putting down to the wheels?

So I initially had a Boostlogic exhaust years ago, then switched to the Apexi N1 Evo exhaust.
More recently, I found what I believe is the cheapest catback for the Supra? Made by Megan Racing, its essentially a straight pipe. I got it on ebay (there is still active listing for the $428 shipped price I paid).

Fit - Not bad honestly. I personally dont care for slip fit designs since it takes me longer to adjust (maybe I just really suck at them), but fits better than Tomei exhausts I've seen.

Finish - Not bad. Welds look decent, and do appreciate that it has a mounting point for the OEM valve so that it has a place to rest.
How's the sound and loudness compared to the ones you had before?

Not heaps - I drove the car for 4 years with a 2JZGE and tried to find the limit. Then upgraded to the 1JZGTE - running a meagre 340hp at the wheels.

But I'm only 1s off a Cayman GT4 time at my local, so I'm trying to get there with skill rather than outright power ;)

After a lot of back and forth, I think I'm leaning towards an unresonated AWE Touring. Not so cheap but seems to sound pretty good and looks the goods.

Just to make your choice harder, I picked up a used HKS dual muffler catback a few weeks ago. Really wakes up the Aussie exhaust sound and isn't crazy loud. Pops are much nicer in sport mode. As you may have heard, in AU only noticeable difference for exhaust sound between normal and sport is burble / pops. Valve doesn't seem to change.

Barely any drone at all either cruising at 2k rpm in the MT. Drone inaudible with radio above 1/3 volume. Only becomes noticeable at all when going up a hill.

I'm considering a Kenji Garage DP and the Dinan system.

I just don't like the Dinan tips but I can fix that.

Should be the best combo of sound vs. livability.
Did u find tips for the Dinan? I’m interested in this exhaust but cannot find tips for it

Just circling back to this thread as it appeared in my feed and probably needs a bookend.

I indeed ended up with an AWE Non-Resonated exhaust (with chrome tips). The exhaust has been on the car for nearly two months now and well.. it's a game changer. The car sounds just about perfect - idle sounds meaty and under acceleration in Sport mode it sounds fantastic - third gear at full tilt is perfection.

I run in Sport mode pretty much exclusively and interestingly, despite it being an unvalved system, with Sport mode off it noticeably reduces the burbles and crackles on pedal lift off.. without removing the nice overall exhaust note. While it doesn't particularly drone at highway speeds (100-110km/h) it is more audibly present than the old exhaust (weirdo super quiet Australian spec.) which isn't ideal but pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

The tips do look big but they aren't out of place and I quite like the size of them in real life. The low hanging mufflers (or whatever they are) hang low enough to make sure everyone knows you have an after market exhaust (which is good and bad) but I haven't had any of the clearance issues I was a little paranoid about going in.

Overall I'm really happy with this exhaust and highly recommend it - particularly for Aussies due to our particularly shit stock exhaust/valve coding. The AWE really woke my car up and quite honestly helped me push through a bit of should've bought an M car buyers remorse.

AWE FTW.

I know a lot of people hate burbles and pops but the MT as delivered in Australia is disappointingly quiet. I've turned off ASD because ASD is stupid and even in Sports mode it is disappointingly quiet. I mean this car looks the part but my just sounds way too timid.

What is the cheapest and easiest way to make this car sound the way it looks?
Hi there, didn't want to start another thread, so instead circle back on this topic. Totally agree with the above post as it's my experience also.

Last Friday I test drove my friend's September 2023 build Auto GR Supra GTS and I was surprised how much better it sounds compared to my August 2023 build MT. It appears the ASD is far more sporty and louder, it almost made me wished I got an auto.

Question, has anyone had success playing with ASD in Bimmercode expert mode to change/improve the sound?

No. Just turn that shit off and buy an AWE Touring non-resonated exhaust. Sounds perfect now.

Cheapest way to add a good amount of noise ( not legal anywhere) is a catless downpipe, if you want to retain the stock cat, have a custom straight pipe catback built, can be done for about 1k-1500k USD depending who you take it too, and that'll be a big volume upgrade.
Just saw this now. Amen brother! Still loving the catless dp you sold me ?

Bumping this thread as I'm keen to get a dump pipe that does not throw a cel.

( I am in Australia) is there anything local? Like hitech mufflers etc?
