I NEED HELP. NEW ECU/ TUNING

I bought a 2020 Toyota Supra at Copart, which arrived without the ECU. I bought a used one on eBay without knowing it wouldn't work. Now I'm trying to buy a new one from the dealer. Does anyone know how to buy it and/or order it online, or can you configure the used one I have since it's the same part number?

DME has to be programmed to the cars VIN. Can’t just plug a random one in.

Other components on the car are tied to the vin too. HUNBTEVO and KOMBI is tied to a vin for example.. No idea what happens if it doesn't match the BDCs vin.

I feel like going and trying to buy a used key, bdc and ecu (all from the same car) is asking for trouble and that you might end up sending a small fortune in coding.

You'll probably have better luck searching BMW forums for info on this.

I believe if you buy all of those, along with the KOMBI, you should be able to start the car without triggering the odometer tampering red dot. Since I think those are the four places where the VIN and mileage are stored.

Edit: maybe the KCM/CAS (Key control module/Car Access System) as well? Doing some Googling, it looks like BMW no longer uses Light Control Module that stores the VIN.

Me and my friend had the same situation. The easiest way is to buy new dme from local Toyota dealer, 2 weeks wait, $1300 cost. Need to be coded to the car after installation, it is missing CAFD file in ESYS
